Was Bingham sick? What happened? Who beat him? I have read the past 2 months how unstoppable the kid is. I am sure he is good but who was better Saturday?

What was up with the unattached wrestlers because i see that a couple actually placed? plus one more question for coach lane. When is this bad boy going to turn in to a 2-day event? Or has that thought already been nixed.

Actually, I have thought about a 2-day event, but it just won't work out. For starters we are in 2 day tourneys back to back in Newton and Beloit. Also, we would need to invite some more teams to make it a two day event and our gym is quite small. It is adequate for the number of teams we currently have, just not for any more. I think it is a nice tournament that sees some good wrestling. Not the toughest tournament around but some good competition.

As for the unattached wrestlers, we invited teams to bring some of their better j.v. wrestlers. Manhattan brought a few kids and their j.v. 103 pounder placed. Our 130 j.v. placed fourth(he lost the match in O.T.) I thought it was a great experience and added to the tourney. Not every coach was in favor of this but in the end I think it was a good call, something we will more than likely do again next year. Our tournament workers and in particular Coach Stevens and Gary Seibel kept things moving throughout the day and we ran off a succesful tournament. I hope that all the teams can make it back next year.
