I think from past experiences that it is good to go out for football because it keeps you in shape. As a rule most kids that wrestle usually excell on the football field especially on defense do to their tecnique training on the mat, the old phrase watch the hip not the head. Wrestlers are trained to "keep their body under control" so takleling is "more natural" for kids who have practiced it for years. Any sport you go out for is great the more one does the better off they will be. As to the topic fall or winter sports focus I think an athelete who wants to excell doesn't wait until that season to keep training in that sport. My son is a QB and LB and he has been working in the weight room and at camps all summer to get ready for this season. He also has been doing wrestling camps to so like I said before you do both. As to quote a camp we went to recently "offseason training makes in season champions" or something close to that either way I think you get my point. I have seen some of his friends neglecting staying in shape, and it will catch up to them on the field and on the mat.

I say go out for football and have fun.
