Just wondering. Why, if your booted off a forum 5 or 6 times and no one on the forum appreciates your comments and holds no value on any thing said, do you come crawling back?

Couple of questions:

1) Does boasting about yourself make you feel all warm inside?
2) Does degrading others make you feel powerful?
3) Do posting topics and replies give you a sense of stability that other forums can't match.

WHY the madness?

Leave.

believe it or not, there are a choice few of us who still appreciate what JC has to say. he is what you would call "the salt of the earth" and gives the forum a certain punch that it's been missing lately.

Maybe you're not an ugly human, but a good looking ape.....with exceptional verbal skills.

It doesn't matter what a "few of us" appreciate! Rules are rules. On this board, like society, if you can't follow the rules you should be shunned not held up as some hero. Besides the fact that creating a sock (different nickname) is a cowards way of rejoining the board.

Been quite on this issue and am almost reluctant to respond because I believe that billy_mcjackson_ripjc fits all definitions of a troll and in some ways thrives on the attention he is receiving. I have heard that a few folks appreciate him but believe there are many more who are already tired of his antics.

Chewbaca please don't misuse or misapply Scripture in calling him the "salt of the earth." That is directed towards one who has a positive impact on society, in a caring, loving way. billy_mcjackson_ripjc has been far from presenting anything positive in a caring or positive way. Sarcasm or humor at the expense of others should not be tolerated if rules are in place to prevent those types of actions on this board. He has gone over the edge on this particular forum. To degrade or put others down is not humorous. He has made the comment to me that, "I just don't get it." Well the truth is, I do get it, and don't find it humorous or appreciate it. I agree whole-heartedly with sportsfan02. This board was set up with rules.

Most of you know I enjoy having fun, and am not opposed to other posters having fun, at times, even in jest a little ribbing back and forth. The tag team discussions are a perfect example of that. However, to come on here, berate, put down, and degrade other forum members without them knowing who you are is going overboard and out of bounds of the rules of this board. I for one hope that the forum moderators on the high school thread and Mike Juby take action, unfortunately again. The other truth is that many of those, this week are at camp in Hays, and then to Carlsbad New Mexico for the Southern Plains Regionals. I suspect some of them won’t be able to get on and make the corrections in a timely manner. That is unfortunate.

To billy_mcjackson_ripjc, I would hope that you would respond in an adult manner and explain yourself. You are after all in college now, at some point you are going to have to make decisions in life that resemble adult decisions. Again, I am not saying don’t have fun, not saying don’t rib and kid around, but there are limits and I for one know that if you were to meet Chenoweth or a few other forum members right now, you might find out who is accomplished in wrestling and who is not. They have not found value in your comments and I can’t blame them. I wish you would be willing to tell people the things you have said to their face, but I don’t expect that to take place. I just don’t find that type of appropriate behavior in your character, and that unfortunately, is a shame. There are always people who hide behind computer forums, and people who are unwilling to own up to their own convictions and comments. Frankly, I for one have never respected that, but then again as far as you are concerned, I don’t think that really matters.

Now I know some may think regarding my own comments here, “That seems hypocritical, to be talking about another individual and then calling someone out on his own.” There is a difference, or at least I hope there is. My hope is that these boards be the best they can be, that we all follow and abide by the rules of the boards. There is also another major difference. I have owned up to my comments by using my name on my posts. My contact information is legit, and I have even posted at times my own address and phone number for people to contact me. I hope that I have shown my love for the Kansas wrestling community in a positive way most of the time, if not all of the time. If billy_mcjackson_ripjc has an issue with my comments, he can come directly to me and say something about it. He has not given the rest or us those luxuries.

From here on, I will do my best to do what some have recommended, “Ignore him.” I would love to discuss these issues with him in person, but I don’t think that is going to happen because of his unwillingness to do so. If he does, that is fine, I have an email and he can email me and we can speak as adults as to his or my appropriateness. Otherwise, in the words of some, I’ll choose to ignore the troll from here on out.

One other comment that may help on this. I know that on the kids forum I appreciate it when people with complaints let me know about them. I would recommend that those having issues contact the forum moderators under the report post thread or by clicking on their names at the top of the high school page and then emailing them.

Thank you, Mr. Furches...I have been wanting to say essentially the same thing. I would like to add at least one more point to that list...and it also applies to Gutwrench, ACBulldog and some others who don't seem sincere in their comments. A person' character reflects in his speech and his deed. You are also a reflection of your parents, your coaches and your environment. We are quick to defend our coach, but hammer the "new" guy who takes the reins. Believe me, you are disrespecting your old coach every time you open your mouth.

I find the whole Chenoweth tirade boring and cruel. Hammering someone over their last high school match doesn't seem to have a point to it, rather than to be cruel and hateful. This also does not apply to any coach you are defending.

If you are at KU, and continuing your life on the road to higher education. Here's a tip...try using it! This is the high school forum (last time I looked) and the population is filled with those individuals who aren't even in high school anymore. If you have something to contribute to young athletes coming up, try sharing, caring and betterment. Because that is what your former coach did...and you support him.

Finally, to those individuals trying to get a rise out of the membership by challenging their intelligence, then resorting to name calling and the use of terms like "caustic wit and humor", "witty banter" and "inciting intelligent thought"...thanks for the tips, but you should try the Golden Rule. You should also try new terms like compassion, respect, humility and decency. I believe anyone who is on here must have wrestled at one time or another and all of us know to shake our opponents hand at the end of the match...win, lose or draw. Try the same courtesy in life, because that is what your former coach(s) taught you to do.

I watched Gladiator again last night. In it is a quote that seems to apply. "Your flaws as a son, are my failures as a father."

Are you making a POSITIVE difference in the life of kids?

While I agee with some of the opinions expressed above, I am always leery of censorship or "shunning" someone ...... in my opinion, Mr. Furches' course is the correct one ...... simply ignore (don't respond) to those posts you deem inappropriate ..... this is a choice we all have (God Bless America) ....... furthermore, kids say dumb and often hurtful things (as we all did) ...... learning how to participate in civil society is part of growing up ........ we learn largely by making mistakes ......... if we become too draconian in our moderation of the forum, we may rob some of the opportunity to learn ...... I dare say few, like the young man who boasted about his wrestling prowess and made bold predictions about what he would accomplish this past year has learned a lesson ........ since we do have many kids or "adults in trainng" on the board, I say let them say dumb things ( even as adults we are not totally immune to this) and work with them, either by ignoring the comment or giving appropriate feedback ........

SS, I would agree with you if this was a board frequented by only adults or if the abuse had been simply saying hurtful things or trying to incite others. But, as I recall this poster along with a few others were booted for profanity. They were asked several times to stop and informed that it could cause the board to be closed which made no difference in their behavior. I personally don't mind profanity but if I am in someone else's home or around minors I mind my language out of respect. That is what this all boils down to, a lack of respect for others, by some low class punks.

I realize that what I have to say is offensive to most, but that's only because you let it get that way. I am here to poke fun at things because I think many things are funny. I would also like to point out that, though I may make comments that could be mean to some, I have been attacked as well. I am a nineteen year old college student who likes to drink beer and sit around, like many of you. I only do what I do because many of you take wrestling way too seriously. I was competitive in high school and I was a competitive college wrestler for KU's intramural team. I know that wrestling is a great sport, but I also know that there are more important things in life. Just give me a break and make fun of me, but make fun of yourself once in a while too. It's fun.

I would also like to point out that I have not used profanity, and that Computerized Shoes and Afternoondelight have. If you will look at all of my posts, I never swear in any way, or attack someone's sexual preference. I would also like to give a shout out to their moms for last nights performance. Thanks ladies, see you next Saturday night?

I wasn't kicked off of the forum because I was disliked, children. I was kicked off because my words of inspiration are so controversial, the world isn't ready to hear them.

I was reprimanded for my word choice. I am still a youngin' and I'm learnin that there are better things in life than arguing with the ignorant.

...and while you may have not attacked someone's sexual preference, you did attack someone's race.

I will be attending Newman University in Fall of 05'.

Sincerely,
Andrew Gossett

I did not attack someone's race, I told him to go eat something that someone of any race might enjoy.
