Ask Romero Cotton who won state this year. The move that won it for him, he said, was taught by his kids coach. They both compliment each other, that is pretty much a given.

I am absolutely shocked at superiorsteve! With all of the success that his team has had in recent years, did he think he did that alone? A lot of those kids came up through the kids club program. Yes, it might not be for everyone, but neither is wrestling. Give credit where credit is due, or perhaps you really think that you are "superior" steve! By the way, congrats to Bird, Hansen, Rios, and all the other great Turner wrestlers on yet another successful year!

I think kids was a lot of help. To say something about the level of competition, last year I wrestled guys who this year placed: 1st 4A, 1st 5A, and 2nd 6A.

The big names you hear all the time from any part of ks, have wrestled at least 3-4 years in these diffrent types of wrestling. Say maybe they start out wrestling kids to get extra time in jr. high. Maybe in high school some let their body rest for a month or two and wrestle during the summer. If you rotate back and forth you won't get burnt out.

My son took 4th at state this year losing to Metzler badly both times. Look up his name if you are so inclinded. My brother and I have had state placers in all of our sons. They all started at 7th grade. One wrestles for Labette county in college now. Is it an advantage? Definately it is, but it can be over come. Not to many do. But the other side is the kids coach that was a state kids champ a 6-11 and no longer wrestles. For my son he wrestles for himself first and plays baseball for the team. Both have their advantages. Just so you know Bronco Wrestler, my brother and I were bronco basketball players and I played on the 79 chanpionship team

Just in case no one know's Harry Lamar was a bronco wrestler too. Silver Lake coach that controls everything at his tourney. Except Danny Grader. Unreal wrestler.

Wrestling kids during the off season, along with Freestyle/greco, is just like having another high school season. You gain alot of experience. I am currently wrestling kids, and have for 3 years before high school. It has helped me a great deal.

kids club is definetely the foundation of a good wreslter or wanting to become i good wrestler, i can use myself for a prime example, i started wrestling kids when i was 5 years old and along the way i picked up 3 state titles and 2 national runner ups, but besides that point, wrestling kids starts and builds you up to compete well in the high school all tho you can get worn out of the sport if you start to early, because i didnt wrestle my sophomore or junior year and i came back as a senior and was able to capture a state championship, so i do definetely believe that kids club has a big part to do with being a good high school wrestler, lifting weights and participating in other sports such as football and baseball your whole life as in my case helps a good amount as well, but that is just my opinion

CAN I BE A STATE CHAMP?.....uh?
duh!

Norton,Oberlin,Atwood,St.Francis,Oakley,Colby,Goodland,Hoxie,Phillipsburg,Stockton,Plainville,Wakeeney,TMP. just to name a few,in no particular order. NW Kansas and MCL League. Our success is based on good solid Kids Wrestling programs.

I say good and solid because the coaches and parents work together to try and be successful by attempting to keep a good balance among family, fun and work (ethic) for the love of the sport, without burnout in the process of meeting our goals. Bring it on.

Boogie Man. I want to know more about how you guys have found the balance. Do you have the burnout problem like in Central and Eastern Kansas. If not, why?
