I wanted to apologize to the coaches, wrestlers, and fans for the time length of the tournament. We ran into a few technical (computer) problems at the tournament and that set us back a little. The main problem was that we just did not take into account how tough the wrestling was going to be this year and many matches were going the full distance and in many cases they were going into overtime. We thought by leaving four mats down for the first round Saturday would keep us on schedule, but unfortunately it didn’t. Joe Keeler and I are already working on this problem for next year and hopefully we can cut some time on next years tournament. I hope everyone enjoyed the great wrestling, and we appreciate all the help we received during the tournament. Congratulations to everyone that competed in the tournament.

I echo Scott's comments. This was the toughest Bobcat Classic so far and the matches throughout the day on Saturday were incredible. Numerous close matches including many overtimes. The finals alone had 11 out of the fourteen matches decided by 3 point or less ( Including several overtimes). That is the type of qaulity wrestling we want and we'll make some adjustments to our schedule so we finish earlier Saturday night. Congratulations to all and thanks for your patience. The wrestling was superb!

Scott and Joe, Thanks for the great hospitality from your school and administration. Your tournament has definately grown in many ways. As always you delt with the problems. I couldn't believe it was 9pm Sat. I thought it was around 6. Guess I was watching all the great wrestling and time got away. I think I gained 10 pounds too. Maybe next year cut out on some of the great food.

Couple of comments and questions. Hope you gave the custodial engineers a couple of adda boys(girls) and a dinner. Both days the bathrooms seemed spotless. Sometimes it doesn't mean a lot to the guys but I know the gals really appreciate it. Who was taking all the pictures and running them up on the screen. Time ran on but witnessed some great wrestling, a lot of matches going the distance plus a couple. Thanks guys, hope to make it back next year. Dan

You say that because you wrestled in the Bobcat. Newton is just as tough. Manhattan, Norton, Carroll, Ark City, Clay Center, Perry, OK., etc.

I have got the privelage to wrestle at both tournaments. In my opinion I would definatley say that the Bobcat is tougher.

Why do we need to argue about what is the "best" tournament.
Both tournaments are great, and provide a lot of excitement to the wrestling community. Lets just leave it at that.
Any fool can criticize, complain, and condemn- and most do.

Email Sue Ryan at Basehor-Linwood High School and she should be able to hook you up with the pictures.
