I am not sure why you would make a statement like that but I would guess there will be 16 good ones at 160 14 & under at Topeka. EJ Walter STA is a good one. He took second at State last year to Marvio Tischhauser. EJ has placed a number of times at State. He is an 8th grader but don't count him out this year against the 9th graders. I look for him to place high again at State this year. He recently took 2nd at the Wichita Classic and just won his Subdistrict.

piner, I did a little research for you and I did see that Tyler Kuhn at State took 3rd in 2001 and 6th last year in 2003. He took 6th last year in the same bracket 12 & under, 140 that EJ Walter took second at to Tischhauser. I am not sure whether Kuhn and Walter have faced each other before. They will probably both be in contention this year at State. Are you in this bracket? If you are how did you do at Subs and who is going to be tough at this weight from your district?

From what I have read Tyler and Ej will be the front runners in this weight. The problem is they will meet in the semis if they both take first at Districts.

Piner, my son is in 12 & under 150. He is EJ Walter's teammate. He has also had the honor to have been tossed around by him and Adam Anstine in practice over the last four years now. Oh well it has helped him in his own age and weight group.
So far it seems that all we have heard about is EJ and Tyler, does anyone else know who the other kids to watch for in this group?

I think Tyler Kuhn will definitely be a big threat at STATE. His middle school record was 17 & 0 with all pins, most of which happened within the first 30 to 40 seconds. He is a very strong and smart wrestler.

But Kuhn got 6th place at state last year ,that was also the top of his age group.
