Who is going to wrestle in Lincoln. I know Allen (Freshman) Lund Marrs (Sophomores) Grater Marrs (Juniors) are going from Clay. Also Taplin Abilene, Wiscombe Trail, Gonzalez and Malloy from Heights, from what I heard are going too. Anyone else?

I heard the Cornejo, Chrisman, and Baldridge from Campus; Fisher from Andale; Edgmon, Moses, and Freeman from Goddard; Patterson, Zach Hentzen, Luke Hentzen, and Nate Thibault from Maize. These are just what I've heard

Is there not a conflict with the state qualifying series for kids here?

What a totally cool concept, no wrestling organization card required, no 2 or three qualifiers designed to raise extra money for some program that you have no interest in, just great wrestling for wrestling's sake, open to all. I truly hope it is wildly succesful, maybe it will start a trend.

You must understand that if you compete in this event that you will forgo your eligibility to participate in Kansas Kids State tournament. It is the same weekend that Sub-districts are held. It is also not a sanctioned USA Wrestling event. I have had conversation with Greg and Leanna Grater about this matter.

Most importantly you won't have any insurance if injured! I would have serious worries about any tournament that didn't feel the need to sanction their event.

Just a note to clear up some inaccurate statements that have been made..... I spoke to Shawn from Brut/adidas, he said that Adidas has provided a per event insurance agreement that will go into effect as part of your entry agreement when you sign it. It covers each contestant from any injury that occurs from the time the entry is signed to the close of the tournament. It protects each participant up to 3 million dollars if he/she is injured, which I believe is better than the Usa wrestling coverage. He also said that entry deadline will be extended to March 10, said that all weights were filling nicely but that 103, 112, and 189 were shorter that the other weights and they were hoping to get more of those contestants. He said that contestants from 33 states had registered so far, and from as far as Hawii and Rhode Island. He said to expect 32 man brackets, but that some might be 64. Quite a deal for 40 bucks! anyway, don't worry about the insurance.

Man...ought to be a great avenue for the high school guys that want to challenge themselves a bit more and see styles from outside the state walls. But seeing some guys not go to the State tourney here might lead to some interesting things...guys you may have never heard of coming out of the wood work to win, and more parity as you'd elimate some of the elite who would be competing out of state on that day. There are pros and cons.
