I think I was the slowest wrestler ever... did you specify the slow wrestler had to be good... oh never mind. I was just slow and not good, so I don't count

Wnthony Ahetstone (AKA Fraggle Rock) may have been the slowest, but he's got a state title under his belt. He beat a pretty good kid in the finals, too...

After shawn silvas (sp) got his leg worked on, he was still fast enough to do a spin move take down. However, the bear footed kids in New Zealand tried their hardest to stop it.

When I was a freshman I wrestled with a heavy weight whose last name was Putroff. I can't remember his first name, but he lost 3-4 matches that year because he was called for stalling so many times he was disqualified. That's slow.

How about Beau Tillman, he was pretty fast and a 3x state champ in the late 90's. His bro Chris was pretty fast too. Matt Pyle from Sabetha is fast and strong as an ox. Toast Knox was fast and so was Kenny Taylor from the Wichita scene. How about Tony Pelnar from McPhearson (sp) or Eddy Woody from Newton, both were lightning fast when the time called for it. Steve Mesa of Garden City was as fast as a greased pig along with BJ Vincent of Scott City. But the fastest wrestler I have ever seen was not from Kansas but from Tulsa, Oklahoma..named Cris Dupois who was a 4 timer and wrestled at Labette in 1994.
On a side note, Boach Clack makes the weirdest little psst sound when he shoots a takedown. I personally grunt sometimes when I hit a dbl lg or a firemans. Anyone else make sounds?

baldridge is pretty dang quick as well as cornejo last time i saw tate weatherbee he was pretty fast

Shawn Bunch. Hands down the quickest.

Bunch could hit takedowns from ten feet away.....seriously.....very fast dude.

Russell Washington from Topeka was pretty quick as well.

I vote Bunch.

Joe Nelson from Wichita South, wrestled 189. Had a 2 second stand-up. Loved to watch him wrestle when I was in the kids program.

Crazy Eyed Joe Nelson. I didn't see his speed cause he was so **** big! He didn't even have any fat on him.

I watched Bunch and wrestled One-eyed Joe, and Bunch was much quicker.

Bunch was and still is the fastest. I was Chris Bell's practice partner and yeah he was fast and strong, but wrestled a fast man's match. He always considered his strength as his insurance which he didn't have to collect on too many times. 84-0 his last 3 years and no one came within 8 points his senior year, just dominanated, I still have not seen anyone dominate the way he did in Kansas the 30 years I been around.

Bunch is still faster, I will never forget the duck he did on T-Bone at state, it was priceless the look on T-Bone's face, he really did not know where Shawn had gone!

The slowest, I would probably give to Bill Elvin from Olathe North, he was weak too, for a 189, or 185 pounder, what ever it was back then. Now I am not saying this as a bad thing. The boy just impressed me with his technique, it was perfection and relaxed to a "T".
He was a 2-time State champ so he was very successful. Gary did a great job with that one, and it was fun to watch Bill go at it, if you recognize the last name its because he is the son of Chuck and Cherie Elvin, the one's who do the Senior National trip.

Coach Peterman

Fast: Cornejo, Gardner, Baldridge, and certainly KP (Pulliam). KP moved like a lightweight, unless you were the guy wrestling against him!
Slow: Emmett Smith- great wrestler, but spent 1/2 the match stalling and looking up at the clock. Then he'd move like lightening and it was all over but the crying. Adam Ruiz was another good wrestler who stretched every match to the last second.

Both clouse brothers where pretty good they were twins. and they have alittle brother wrestling there now. hes only a freshman though

Fast - Lance Roe from Norton moves like a cat and it irritates the h*ll out of you when you tried to wrestle him. James Annon was quicker than sh*t and could never keep him on his back

Slow - Chuck Delimont from Norton. 2/3 of his matches were 1-0 or 2-1. Or going into double overtime and winning when getting the choice, and losing when he loses the flip
