Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion Kids Folkstyle USAW Girls State

The USAW Girls State is back on!!! It will be in Derby, KS on Sunday, March 14th. We will be going to the USAW Body Bar Nationals in Minnesota and returning in time for the girls state in Derby. We want to see all girl wrestlers come out for this event. They have ordered new medals and we also have a Novice State Tourney so all your brothers can come out too.

We are also working on a girls division at the KS Freestyle/Greco State and there is already a division in the Southern Plains Tourney. As all you girls come out of your middle and high school programs we want you to consider going further and wrestling in some all girl events.

We also have the ability to take a girls team to Fargo just like the boys. If you have interest in competing on the state team at Fargo, please contact us. The only way you can be entered at Fargo is with the KS Team.

DO THE GIRLS NEED TO QUALIFY FOR THE STATE TOURNAMENT? WILL THERE BE FLIERS SENT OUT TO ALL CLUBS OR SOMETHING POSTED ON THE WEB SITE?

At this time there is no qualifier for the state tourney, at some point in time that will become necessary. Also at the direction of Terry Steiner at USAW we are opening up the tourney to girls in other states, in order to increase the competition and participation. The flyers will be out soon and will also be posted on the calendar of events page. We are also preparing a mailer with all girls opportunities that will go out this week.
