Who beat Sylva at the Paola Tourny? I was just wondering about that and what happened to Wilkes? Was he not there or something?

Wilkes was there and seated #1. He was beaten in the semis by Weber of Effingham 8-2 and Sylva was seated #2 and beaten by Arveson of Chapman. Arveson beat Weber for 1st.

Gorton of Central Hts. also was seated #2 at 145 and did not place.

could someone post the 3rd-4th place matches from this tourney, thanks

Did Pingleton of Mill Valley not wrestle at 189 or what happend to him?

I was wondering who beat Wilkes on the back side of the bracket.

I am not real sure what happened to Wilkes on the back side? I did not see the match. Volle of Topeka high came out of that bracket. I can only guess Wilkes pulled out of the tourney, but I don't know why he would have. He did not appear to be hurt and was wrestling hard. I do recall he took some blood time in the match with Weber when his head gear cut him by an eye. He did his best wrestling after the cut. It is the only thing I can guess perhaps he decided the eye needed stitches or something?

thanks for the info. arveson has been living up to his ranking...but theres some tough people at 140 and we'll c if he holds his spot.
