Well I think Kriegbaum and Taplin are about the closet thing to a guarantee you can get. Perhaps one of them won't make it but not very likely.

I was having a real weird feeling since last year, that out of the two 3x State Champs going for #4 , only 1 will come out with all 4. But I wouldn't totally bet the farm on that.

I understand that anything can happen but Kreigbaum and Gilliland's weight classes are pretty weak. I don't see either one of them losing.

I have confidence that Abilene will win it (Columbus or Goodland could sneek in there), but as you said Coach Lane anything can happen. I think back to the 2000-2001 season when they brought 9 wrestlers to state that were ranked up in the top 3 and several of them got beat out in the first 3 rounds. They ended up placing 3rd. If they all wrestle well I don't see anyone beating them. Not to mention the fact that alot of good wrestlers aren't going to make it past the Abilene regional.

Okay so as for my predictions

3A Call me crazy but probably Hoxie
5A I don't really know cause I haven't seen any of the team
6A Manhattan based on their performance at Beloit, they seem to have a well rounded tournament team

So this kid is putting on his shoes right, and his mom says, honey you're putting your shoes on the wrong feet, and the little kid says, no mom these are my feet

Nigel, let's not talk about that year. Everything went wrong that weekend. Thankfully we had Kriegbaum and Geske or we wouldn't even finished that high!

Norton, goodland, carrol, and Manhattan. Loss of numbers because of the toughness of the regional may give Columbus the edge here, I have not seen them wrestle but from what I hear they could have 10 or more wrestlers at state and they were able to tie Goodland and beat Clay with that advantage last year, Norton just is too strong at too many weights to be losing to Hoxie, who has only around 6 guys that will score significant points. Carrol seems to be the strongest of the 5a group, and its Manhattan's turn. Closest state I think will be 4a, possible that
three or four teams could be within 5 or ten points of each other, I like Goodland, Abeline, Columbus, and Clay. Sorry to belabor 4a but that's what I've been watching, mostly.

3a- Hoxie
4a- I think it will be close between SFT and Abiliene. Throw Goodland in there to. they looked tough at the Bobcat Classic.
5a- Bishop Carrol or Turner
6a- Manhattan
