Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion High School New Programs for 03/04

I understand that there are a couple of consolidations next year. The one I was told is the St. Marys/Rossville consolidation to form Kaw Valley High School (is that correct?)

Olathe Northwest opens next year. That is one NEW PROGRAM! Are there any other High Schools in Kansas that currently do not have wrestling that are considering picking the program up? It would be great if we could add one or two new programs a year. It was tremendous to see Jefferson West and Atchison Maur Hill Prep both start and restart their programs this year.

I believe that both Iola and Girard are 4A schools without wrestling. Any hope on convincing them to join the ranks?

Rossville and St. Marys in the Kaw Valley district are presently set to be one "Kaw Valley" high school next year. However, there is a very intense board of education election going on with the change the main issue. I am not sure it is settled yet.

I heard it was Rossville and Silverlake, i'm pretty sure thats who it was, my football coach was talkin to our athletic director about the change, anyone know which is right??

This consolidation will not happen due to the elections last week
1-of the board members did not survive the first round and the other two have
no chance in April.But strange things can happen,if it does St.May's will
move to Rossville and attend the new Kaw Valley High (home of the
black and gold) home of the cougars.
