I was pretty suprised he didn't hit anyone....but everyone knew he was gonna lose to Gardner anyways. I just thought it was great how he gave the crowd the "suck it" sign....that was classic.....he will come back through and take third tho...bummer for him...he still has yet to win state.

Completely and totally CLASSLESS! I wished I had a pacifier I could have given him! On the other side though, credit Gardner for his class and dignity for stopping Knox's tantrum.

Knox was mad at the way the match was officiated, and I would have to agree with him, I think he got done unfairly when he wasn't given an escape. He didn't seem to have any problem with gardner , more so the crowd.

Yeah, but that doesn't give knox the right to act like a complete jerk. I have a question though, what happened to knox against drieling (spelling) of Salina South. Corey dominated the whole match, and knox beat him like 8-1 in the quarterfinals.

Was WW penalized team points? What a tantrum. Totally unacceptable, and probably undisciplined by anyone. What a huge amount of talent to waste with such a display of unsportsman like conduct. It doesn't surprise me that Stallion135 accepts such behavior as well.

now hold on a second crossface, I didn't say what he did was right, i'm just saying I can feel where he is coming from, and what do mean by " StallionTime135 accepts such behavior" are you trying to talk about me personally or do just hate the fact that I go to schlalge?

knox is a good kid and a hard worker maybe he gets a little worked up from time to time, but he doesn't accept losing. This is a trait I think more kansas wrestlers in high shchool need to develope. Maybe if people weren't always so negative to people like knox he wouldn't throw tempers like he did.

OK, I must comment. Charles is a tremendous kid and great wrestler. He was just down-hearted after his loss, the reason why he took so long getting up after the buzzer. The ref then tried to help Charles up when he did not want it, so Charles gave a little arm motion like "get away". Nothing bad so far. He then proceeded to stand and look at the ceiling in disappoinment. The crowd then started to boo him (talk about sportsmanship) and Charles lost it. He was mad at himself for having just lost in the semi's then the effect was intensified by the heartless people booing him. I am not saying what transpired afterwards was the correct thing to do, but put yourself in his shoes. Come on people, take things for what they are, not what you want them to be.

Brett I like you and I think you mean well here but I think he should have been DQ'd out of the tourney. There was no excuse for the obscene gestures and running through the mats that were in progress not to mention shoving his coach which would have been his last match for me if I had been him. By doing nothing the state condones that junk and it was junk. You don't have to defend him it is his responsibility not to do that. He failed in that regard.

Knox's competitiveness is not in question. Wrestlers put so much of themselves into winning and nobody feels good losing. Win, lose, or draw a champion accepts defeat without attacking and disrespecting others. Especially your competitor who challenges you to get better. I have seen Knox's displays, refuse to shake the opposing coaches hand, grab his medal out of the cheerleaders hand and leave the stand before pictures were taken. These are just a few examples. Charles do your very best and accept what that brings. You are a exceptional wrestler with exceptional skills so don't let your head get in the way. Watch tiger woods when he loses the US Open or the Masters, take of his hat and shake hands with his competitors. He hates to lose as much as anybody, but he does it gracefully with honer and respect. You can to Charles!

I have not seen a wrestler haul off and shove his coach like that after a match. I was really amazed by that. Why the state let kids who were mad run across mats that were in action was beyond me. This isn't a kid tourney here it is the state meet. That wasn't just knox but he was the worst about it. He shoved everyone from his coach to the people in the tunnel as he ran out of the building. That is unacceptable in any state tourney. It ought to be anywhere. No excuse for that.

I witnessed the tantrum and was appalled by it. I felt he should have been DQ'd. Gardner was a class act and probably saved him from his own destruction. No matter, behavior like that should not go unpunished. To allow it is to ask for more.

Guys-
I understand your concerns, but what if you had to put up with as much crap as Charles has had to all of your life? He consistently gets booed and spoken out against, even though he is a great wrestler. I think what Charles did was wrong but I am just trying to get people to see it from his point of view. As for Tanner saving him, he did just that. A little bird told me that the ref asked Tanner about a DQ and Tanner told him not to do it. That's class and Tanner likely saw what I have been trying to explain.
