Of the 14 named...I've at least heard of 13 of them. What is the background on the 171 guy?

Sonderegger is a senior this year from Shawnee Mission East. He was 6A State Champ last year at 160. Good wrestler.

130 would have to go to Dexter Deeds from Goodland or Levi Younkin of Oakley if he's 130, either one of those two would get my vote, weatherbee is overrated, also Larry Perez at 112, and Seth Metzler at 103, that's where he is i believe

Weatherbee is far from overrated. His match with Younkin at state was outstanding. I liked Younkin in that match only because he came from our regional.

Younkin beat Weatherbee, I didn't know he was coming back. But, 5-4 is a pretty tight match. These guys are two of the best at their weights, all classes considered.

One of the guys out west that will do well and not be noticed until the end is Spencer Burns of Gray co. He only lost to a nationally ranked wrestler from Texas this season and had no close matches at 145 last year until an appendix removal stopped him just before substate. If he gets back into 145 or 152 he would not be someone to take lightly.

What about some of them Columbus boys, Nick Zahm or Brian Simpson, not too bad. They could be conteners. I know they worked out a bit this summer, not as much as they could have, but enough to make a bit of difference.

They'll be good, but not the best in the state.

What about Clay Madden of Norton?

Some other guys that I think may be the best in the state would be Nash Burtin at 103 or 112, Cale Farber or Tyler Baker of Hoxie at 119, the afore mentioned Clay madden at 125. Also Guy Miller of Scott City has recovered from the injuries that sidelined him last year, if he makes 215 There may be no one in Kansas that is better. I also think that Sprigg will be the best Heavy. The buzz may be for the kids from the bigger schools, but 123 and 4 a has some kids that are awfully good, too. I remember after all the hype when all the favorites went to the senior national high school tourney the only guys that realized the potential to actually place were a Goodland Wrestler and a Hoxie wrestler. This year may be different, but I think the " hayseeds" will likely hold their own.

Kenny Aubrey is among the best at 140-145. Tough kid.
