Goddard was not undefeated that year. They lost at the Bishop Carrol Tournament to a stronger team, Great Bend. That year Great Bend was struck with some bad luck right before rgionals. They lost their 145lber to a suspension at school and lost their 152lber to a dislocated shoulder. Both of these guys were ranked in the top 4 (yes rankings don't mean much). Goddard was a good team. Goddard beat Great Bend in two of their finals matches (171 and 160). Great Bend had 2 others in the finals that year(Champion--Schridde and runner-up Maciel). Oh yeah, they had a couple Schwartz boys wrestling on the backside. If they were full strength, they would have been 1st that year.
