Alex - I know you didn't mean anything negative and I didn't take it that way. I just couldn't remember the match. I do remember it now and agree w/ your description of it. That is why I probably had it blocked from my memory. It was at Clay Centers Freestyle tournament. I didn't know that was Malay he wrestled. I think there are a couple good heavyweights out west if Atticus goes heavyweight (Scott City and Goodland) and Strawn is waiting at 215 if we stay there so I'm not sure what he is going to do. Lift weights for sure.

I think that two years ago are void. I have seen kids go from 6th place one year to state champ. Much can happen in 1 year let along two.

Jhris sophomore year and Jhris junior year are completely different people. From what I have seen of Disney, he's making the same change. He doesn't seem to be chubby but he was a little shrimpy. Once he hits the weights, he'll be fine.

Here is one for you Curtis. I remember a healthy Frank Jonas being defeated quite handily by a Ryan Johnson from Manhattan in 2004. I also think that Strawn will be the man to beat at 215 this year, definitely not Edison.

OK, so let's get this team right...
With Loos moving down in weight, that opens up 160. Will Frank Jonas still be 160? If so, he's in.
What do you guys think about 275 between these guys;
Caleb Payne - 33-1, State champ Tyler Jessen - 34-3, State champ Elijah Madison - 28-2, 2nd to Payne (3-2)
Also, Aaron Ely is very tough, but I can't see him beating Shumate or Perez. I think he can beat Altman.
Now at 215. What are your votes between Edison, Strawn and Disney.
Matt Bailes graduated, right? Otherwise, he would be in the line-up.
With Strawn moving up to 215. 189 is now open, any ideas?

215 is Strawn by fall with anyone. At 160, I would say Jonas because most likely, he will be a 4 time finalist with at least 2 titles, which is pretty good. At heavy you have to go with Payne because he'll be a 3-timer and a 4 time finalist.

Must I remind MancerL that I made weight every single time I wrestled, and I actually won a tournament or two. I also won big tournaments very easily while I'm not sure if MancerL won one at all? If he did it must have been his crappy league full of crappy teams. We can also look at the state tournament, where MancerL lost to Carr, and I beat him. So Marky, what's up now?
As for these guys, I can only go by how I wrestled guys they wrestled. I know that I've beaten guys who have beaten most of them, but I'm also two years older than they are, so who knows.

How hard will it be for Hansen to make 112. To me he looks as if he is big enough to be a 125 pounder.

Hey man, I pinned Carr at Basehoor-Linwood and then beat him at state after choking. Ha ha ha...
And it's true, while I was in every final my senior year, aside from my flameout at regionals and state, I only won a little over half of them.
Long story short: I'm bad at wrestling.

hansen should make 112 pretty easy...he is only weighing about 115, and he has been working out everyday with me...plus he isn't eating right....i am guessing 112 will be a pretty good guess for him....since this is summer and he isn't trying to lose weight...

The only thing Jhris and I fight about is who hates Nathan's practices the most.
