I believe I already came up with this topic, but its a good one nonetheless. My vote goes with Freddy's Frozen Custard. Their fries are incredible, and their hamburgers are delicious.

You can not leave out the original Taco Shop in Hays. If I am within a 60 mile radius of this restaurant, I will take a diversion to 333 W. 8th and order up some CCQ and a Beef Nacho Supreme. This is the real reason that I would like 4A state wrestling to be in Hays. I am very jelous of my 3A counter-parts. Nevertheless, Salina is a little bit closer and very attainable after "lights out!"

Mr. DeWitt is a man of depth knowlege. The Taco Shop is a staple of Hays food. I too enjoy the food there, the 6 pack of tacos, with some nachos, then a 44 oz. Pepsi. They actually have a website now so you can log on and order. I make an effort to eat there about anytime I am in Hays, I am sure you yourself enjoyed it while attending TMP since it's not too far off. Salina is about 90 minutes for a Taco Shop visit, so maybe you can get them to meet you in Bunker Hill, half way, and pick up your tacos after "lights out"

Freddies sucks because of the fries. You have to grab a handful just to be pleased. They are skinny as shoe laces. After a few beverages late night I enjoy Taco Express, Renees or whatever they keep chaging their names but are the same place. The burritos are the size of my.........leg

If it's the KFC there in Wichita with an all-you-can-eat Breakfast buffet that everyone should go to if you qualify for state, then KFC gets my vote.
Otherwise, y'all best be picking Del Rancho. It's a chain out of Oklahoma that just opened a place in Tulsa that I have made 2 special trips down to.

I never went to Del Rancho when I lived in Edmond...it closed down after I left anyway so nobody from UCO must have ate there either.

Swayz - Did you ever make it to the Split-T in Okla City while you were in Edmond? They were famous for charcoaling the burgers (long before Burger King) and you would get 3 pounds of potatoes cut up as fries with every order. On a Friday or Saturday night, a person could run out of gas waiting to get in! I had heard they closed recently, but would have been open when you were in Edmond.

Dang Carmona, I hate to agree with you. It must be my conection to your family, but Taco Lopez (formerly Taco Express) is the BEST authentic Mexican food in Wichita. The Adovado burrito can't be beat! I took the boys of Goddard to eat there a couple of times, and the only ones that appreciated it were the Edgmon brothers. That has to say something for it's authenticity.
If you haven't been there, it is right across the street from Hog Wild on West Street (north of Maple). It's open 24/7. All you need to do is speak a little Spanglish to order. Carmona is right, the burritos are the size of his leg, but the taquitos are the size of his......?

The size of my fingers! Yeah after having to many Coronas one might be able to absorb some of the alcohol with a (egg, cheese, chorizo, and ham) I put the ham to spice down the chorizo or I will have montazuma's revenge in the morning!

The KFC buffet is the one in Park City. I have always wanted to go but could never drag myself up there. Maybe a group of us can go as a I am moving to the Hat "get together."

DelRancho has an excellent cross between a chicken fried steak and tenderloin sandwhich, which exceeds the size of the bun. Since originating in Oklahoma, where everything is fried (including Jell-O), it is thier specialty steak sandwhich. Well worth the drive and very filling.

Okay now little man, watch it or I'll smack a blister on that head of yours, and you know I could do it. By the way, when do we do breakfast at the KFC, need to have one day a week for wrestlers to go and meet up from the Wichita area. Would be a blast. Are you moving to Hat town or going up for something else. You leaving "might" be a loss for the area.

Never went to the Split-T. Del Rancho had the Steak Sandwich Supreme I know that. I like heading north and going to a place like Runza.
