IF your're wondering where what happened to dreiling from scott city, he was ahead of Hershey from hugoton and hershey threw a head lock and pinned dreiling in the 3rd. The whole gym was talkin after that one. Pretty exciting.

Probably the biggest upset of the weekend all classes, #1 ranked kid all year long gets beat at Regionals and doesn't qualify....any other stories like this one?

Not to take anything away from him but I didn't wrestle very good that match, the one match I wasn't as focused for and it cost me, but he won the match and now it's up to me to prove myself at state

Yeah i could see what u mean there. If he hasn't been on top all year i don't think he'll be able to stay there. I don't know if this is his first time to go to state but if it is, it might freak him out somewhat and he'll lose what he had at regionals, or it could fuel him. Hard telling how some will react to the pressure.

A HUGE upset in the Beloit regional at 189 was Kirk Palmer - a freshman from Smith Center - pinning Erik Larsen of Lincoln in the first period in the semis. Palmer went on to take 2nd.

Not taking away from his accomplishment as a Freshman, but Stroot a kid barely over .500 knocking off a #1 ranked wrestler that's been there all year long being beaten twice in a row, then being caught in a headlock, but who knows...must have just been an off day or who knows what else....

Never being there and being a little distracted by just being there....I wasn't mentally ready and made some bad choices in the match, but this isn't the NFL and I don't get a replay option so I must prove myself at state instead

How many #1 ranked wrestlers didn't make it to the state tournament?

I know Mr.DeWitt and he was just kidding with me, and I did get out wrestled, I'm not taking anything away from Stroot, but I know I didn't wrestle my best

Although Logan may have been ranked #1 doesn't mean he should have been. I have seen him wrestle on many occasions and was not really impressed with him this year at all. Didn't he have like 7 losses going into regionals. He beat my teammate 4-0 in the first or second round of regionals and Matt had a losing record. That's not the greatest accomplishment.

Congrats this weekend Andrew on the Championship and also on getting ratted out by the teammates for setting off the fire alarm, that in itself is something to be proud of

That also is his style Andrew, he gets ahead early and likes to try and coast his way to the end, which he did with me in our match at Norton, but the saying rankings don't mean anything is true, it's nothing more than a number beside your name

130 has been wide open all year long and Dreiling was the only wrestler that brought a previous state placing to the table. Riffel, I believe, placed as a sophomore as was not eligible until semester of this year.

Burns by far was the biggest upset he was 32-0. i might also say (not to take anything at all away from Miller) that i saw burns hurling right before his 3rd place match
