Congratulations to Matthew Middleton of Bonner Springs for winning the 5A 135 pound title...Matt's father, Levi, won a state title for Bonner in the mid 70s...
My question...Are there any other father/son combinations who have won Kansas state championships?

This years 4A 171 champ, Kyle Davis, and his dad Mark, who was 119 champ in 6A, 1978.

What about Seth and Luke Metzler. Their dad was also a back-to-back state champ.

Kirk Baker, Hoxie coach-3 time champ for Goodland. Travis Baker 2 time state champ. Trent Baker 1 time state champ. Tyler Baker 1 time state champ.
Kirk still is the king of the Baker family with 3 titles. 7 for 1 family is great.

Marcus Herrera and his father Kenny Rodriguez both won state titles for Emporia.
I believe Tristen Deshazer and his father are also both state champions.

Out in Hoxie, I believe there are several with Gilliland and his father, and Schippers and their father.
In another post I stated Mike Garcia and son Cody, and the late Mike Metzler and his sons Luke and Seth.
The Metzler family has six with the opportunity for Seth to add to the total as he is a Junior and will return next year to defend his title.

I stand corrected! I received a very kind e-mail advising that Mat Gilliland's uncle was the State Champion, not Mat's father who was a Medalist.
Hoxie also had the father son combination of Wayne Shepard (3X) and son Lance Shepard (2X).
Lance defeated Wes Harding and prevented Harding from achieving 4X State Champion!

I believe you mean Dwight Hemmerling and his son Bananafingers McCantbendhisknees. (a.k.a. "The Dragonslayer.")
The Garker family will surely have a father/son state championship combo after little Prant Jr. takes the wrestling world by storm in 2030.

There is a family of Kellers from Saint Francis that have champions back into the 30's or 40's extending 3 generations, with the patriachs and their sons winning several titles, someone from sainty could elaborate, I just know that Bill Keller won in 67 or 68 his father was a champion, and they were the only father son to be team captains on an NCAA team. Also kelly and billy gable from Sainty had 250 wins and 7 state titles between them , and I would think that is a record that no one else can match.

Goodland Randy and Balze Bahe. Doug Duell & His 2 sons Burlington CO.
St Francis Warren & Kelly Gienger Elton Keller & Dan, Perry Keller Richard & Darrel Vandike Maybe somemore that I can't remember right now.
What about the Samuelsons from Oakley ?
Mike, Bill Kellers father Ed was not a state champ I don't think they had a State Tourney when he was wrestling. Ed did win the first match for Sainty.

Tyler Samuelson won 2 titles as did his brother Barry. Coach/Father Dale Samuelson finished second in state prior to wrestling in college.
