Thank you Hoxie for a wonderful experience! The small town atmosphere was something that I haven't experienced before, and it had a pretty neat feeling. I guess the best way I can describe it is that we all had a very "welcome" feeling.
Maybe the best example of what the Hoxie folks are all about is that when the announcer was listing some of Ponderosa's accolades, the Hoxie fans actually applauded. That's unbelievable sportsmanship and something Ponderosa is definetely not used to.
Hoxie's team is very good, there's no doubt about it. Hoxie was closer to Ponderosa talent-wise than the final score indicated, and the fact that they do what they do with so few kids is remarkable. What a great bunch of kids and coaches!
I thought it was an excellent experience for Ponderosa and I hope it was for Hoxie too. Good luck to Hoxie at state and for the rest of the season.
By the way, Ponderosa had 7 champions at GC (119, 125, 130, 152, 160, 171, 215) 1 3rd (112 jv guy), and 1 4th (140). Rinaldis at 160 won the OW award.
