I believe that Kyle Strait should win at 215, with Lyons at 189 now.

I have watched Strait wrestle, he has every tool and all the potential to win state at 215

nope, Kyle is at 215! I would venture to say that there is no stronger kid in the state than Strait. Good wrestler, BUT VERY strong!!! His brother Danny Strait was a State Champion at 215 also. Kyle should win it, although the Atwood kid is good, kyle has so much strength I do not know if horenick can match him. He better be a better wrestler. Phillip Lyons and Strait would have been a great match, but Lyons is at 189 now.

last year I know he benched 365 and hanged cleaned 330. Because of surgery to his knees he never maxed out on squat. You must also know that kyle is 6'3" and has alot of leverage. AND I know wt. room strength does not mean everything!! I know some wrestlers that are ranked and really good and have not lifted much, but have alot of natural strength. I just think it will be tough to beat kyle strait unless someone can match his strength(like friedricks of Marysville) Cause not only is he a strong kid, he has wrestled (like most) since he was 6 yr.'s old.

I wouldn't say many are stronger than Horeneck, he is an unchained animal. He also is very good on his feet for a 215 pounder and at one time was leading the state in td's i think. If this Strait kid is as strong as you say, it will be a fun match to watch.

well, if he his as good on his feet as you say, then he has a chance, that proably is Strait's only weakness. On the mat Strait will be tough. I watched Horenick wrestle at kids state a couple years ago, he's tough. Should be a great match, hope they meet!!!!!!!!

I think that it will also come down to Strait and Horinek for the finals. I would say Jeff Horinek will win a close match over Strait. As for strength Horinek will hold his own. As for wrestling a good 215 that is 6'3", Jeff has had a couple of matches with kids that size around NW Kansas. Good luck to all 215's at regionals.

I know horinek lost to bedore at the NWKL tourney, but can someone please give me the score of the match. I also believe that Horinek will be able to beat stait, although strait may be stronger, horinek is easily one of the best 215 pounders on his feet.

As far as Kyle Strait goes winning state, what is the question? people talk about this Atwood kid im sure he is very good, but does not have the tools to beat Strait? No way in he?? Noone (except Lyons) has the knowledge to beat Strait. Kyles mat and strength experience is like no other, remember his brother was awesome, he has probably learned a thing ot two from him.

I hope these two meet up for the championship but ksu you must remember wierd things happen. His older brother was hurt in the semis at state his senior year and had to take a 6th place home after being a champ his junior year.

Just a fan you are correct, straits brother was not that great but he did have some knowledge. Kyle has probably learned some things from his brother, enough to help him win state?????

I would say that what happened to straits brother was a freak accident he was walking through his season that year pinned every match till he hurt his knee. As for kyle i think he should win he is very determined this year. should be a fun weight to watch at state.

Horinek from Atwood went toe-to-toe in a close match with Bedore of Goodland over the weekend. The kid is a physical specimen and has a pretty good practice partner. And I don't mean Klein or Schmidt. His coach Scott Urban placed 2nd at high school senior nationals at 189 and was a juco All-American at Colby as a heaveyweight.

I'd venture to say that Horinek can throw up the iron in the weight room too.
