Add Eureka to the list of schools needing a coach.

Is it my imagination or does Eureka go thru a lot of coaches?

Caney is another opening besides Eureka in the TVL. Both those guys did a great job in their first year. I really hate to see them go, but the best of luck to both of them. Looking from the outside, both jobs look like they have alot of potential for a coach that likes some pretty tough kids. The numbers were not too bad for 3A but we could all use more.

I could be incorrect, but I believe that Eureka lost their coach of 13 years only last year. If the new coach is leaving now, I would not call that going through ALOT of coaches.

I believe Pleasant ridge high schhol advertises for a coaching position every year. Thay would like a teacher with wrestling experience to coach wrestling right now the coach is not a teacher.

Pleasant Ridge is between Leavonworth and Atchison and NOT in Easton, although that is the mailing address.

How many times have you been to any of these places? Pleasant Ridge is just off Hwy 73 which is the highway between Atchison and Leavonworth. Easton is another few miles west. Then again he didn't ask where Easton is. If you find Lowemont on the map, the school is within a mile of it.

Easton is not due west of Leavenworth, but northwest. It looks more even on the map than it seems when you drive it. As the crow flies, it's not between Leavenworth and Atchison, but as the highway goes, it is.

As a former PR Head Coach, I beg to differ--your facts are off. During my time there Henry Lee, Tyler Adams, Jeremy Irvine (3x) all medaled at state. The least amount i took to state yearly were 3.

I know there was at least one other medalist during Gary Buns' time-name escapes me at this point-it was right at the point where they shifted back an forth for a couple of years to 4a.

Adams, Eddie Bowman, Donald Jones, all wrestled at ft.hays. Lee could have wrestled small college anywhere but played football at KSU. Irvine wrestled 3 yrs varsity at CMSU, was recruited by MU, Academic all american. Adams was academic all-american (first team) and recruited by Spates at OU on sheer academic skills alone. Brad Seever was 3x regional champ with over 100 wins. Other 100 match winners in my tenure were Achord, Adams, Irvine. We were as connected to college programs as well any school in the state, my phone rang weekly with calls from Hays, Nebraska, Central Missouri, Missouri, Dana, Neosho, Labette and then Garden City.

It is a burden being an outside coach, we always asked that one be hired from within, even if it meant giving up the position. The numbers at the small school were always a problem. Weber does a fine job with the program now, as did Hansen prior to him, myself, Tom Darnelly or Gary Buns.

I suspect you are a grad of PR, if so, support your alma mater, help promote and assist.

You stand corrected-

Sincerely
Klint Deere
