I think this is between Coach Bahe and his team. I think if they wanted everyone to know they woulda came out and said it.

Seems like the Hays tournament was down in competition without the likes of Goodland, not taking anything away from the kids that wrestled there but I thought the tournament was very weak compared to years previous.

Ya know, I kinda feel sorry for the guys that didn't do anything. I know Goodland has some good wrestlers that have/had a good chance of taking state this year. I hope for their sakes that the team doesn't get suspended but whatever happens, happens, and I hope the guys who did get in trouble feel bad for what they did.

in this case 3 event suspension would mean goodland could not compete in this weekends NWLK tourney, and the last 2 duels of the year, but i wonder if it will or could carry over to regionals, if it does, that would mean their season is over...
doing something like this definately does damage to your schools reputation and image not to mention to the community you repesent...individuals resposible are not only stupid but selfish, ruining it for the rest of the team... To the best of my knowledge, there is no penalty designated by KSHSAA when dealing with substance abuse. Most schools will take a relatively strong stand against similar situations, and once a school establishes guilt, penalties are usually somewhat severe. The official word at the Hays tournament was that Goodland simply had too many points to attend the Hays tournament, and that is possible. I am sure that Coach Bahe runs a clean program, and if there were any problems on a trip, I am positive that it will be handled in house.

I'm not exactly sure if this is true or not either, but i heard that either thursday night or friday morning their athletic director died of a heartattack. Maybe that had somehting to do with it.

We played basketball in Goodland this past Tuesday night (Jan. 24) and their A.D. appeared to be in very good health! I have heard that their HS principals has been sick some this year, but he was also at the game.

...i think more like he had a "heart attack" when he heard about it...
...there is some substance to the rumor and it was addressed to some degree...
