Luke Powers was injured in league and had to default out of that tourn. then in regionals he wrestled anyway but lost becaus of it. He could have placed in the top 4 at state.

It is another sad story about Luke Powers not being able to wrestle at state. He may have placed top 4 there, who knows. All I have to say is that Brandon Sommer has not been 100% all year and is still 1-1 against him. Brandon deserves to be in the Metro Classic since he placed higher than Luke last year at state and is state qualifier this year, last year, and the year before.

From the Goodland Regional

103 - Heckel of Ulysses (ranked 6th) did not make weight friday morning. Blasi of Pratt was listed w/ a 17-7 record, but did not compete in the tourney.

112 - Gennette of Concordia (ranked 2nd)lost in the semis to Eddie of Ulysses & to Powell of Colby in the conso semis. Caldwell of Clay Center (ranked 5th) did not wrestle do to injuries sustained in a car wreck last week.

145 - Espinoza of Pratt (ranked 6th) lost to Eckert in the semis and was ahead 8-2 late in the third period of his conso semi final match w/ Numrich of Scott City when he got pinned.

189 - Probably the weight w/ the most parity in this Regional - and therefore maybe not huge upsets - but the 2nd seed Towns of Haven; 3rd seed Carpenter of Clay Center; and 4th seed Crist of Scott City were all eliminated.

Tyler Wiesner from TMP didn't make it at 189 in the Phillipsburg regional. He finished the season at 35-6.

No, it sounds to me like BNP#4 doesn't know what the he$# he's talking about.
Tougher competition huh?????
So you're telling me that the 6-1 at the Colby duels, 3rd place at the Hays Senior Prarie Classic, and 1st place in the MSAA League tournament with Pratt, Scott City, and Ulysses in the league.

Mckee had a TOUGH bracket and he just got beat. It was not his year. As for Cook he slapped Wilderman with 1.1 seconds left in the match and got the DQ .

Cook slapped Wilderman several times in the face after Wilderman let him up with just seconds to go in the third period. I think that Wilderman was winning 14-6 at the time. He would have made a tough bracket at state even tougher.
As for Mckee, he just got beat out.
Two solid wrestlers that won't be going to Wichita their senior year.

the devil is going on? how did trammel, max and drew hudgins not make state? I wouldve thought for sure that they all wouldve qualified. What a shame for all those three.
