Chapman lost 34-31 to Wamego to start off the night. The Irish trailed 22-10 after 140...Chapman though go hot and won 145 and 152 by fall thne picked up decisions at 160 and 171 to lead 28-22. But then Chapman put out 2 forfeits to lift Wamego up 34-28. Espeseth only decisions at HWT and Chapman loses 34-31. (I don't honestly remember the last time Chapman has lost to Wamego, but this was the first time I've seen the Irish lose to them in person.)
Wamego and Council Grove match went fast. I just realize part of my notes has parts of duals in the same spot so I don't really have the individual stuff right, but Council Grove gets a big win and beats Wamego 42-34! (I don't remember Council Grove ever beating Wamego)
Finally Chapman gets Council Grove the team that just beat the NCKL foe that beat us! Chapman had a fire lit under their rears from the get go, and it was a totally different team than what I saw earlier. They started off trading 103 fall for 112 fall with Chapman winning at the lighter of the 2. With the Dual tied 6-6, Chapman went to town winning 4 consecutive matches by fall, then picking up an 18-1 tech at 140 and a dec at 145. Chapman lead 38-6!!! Chapman would then lose a decision at 152 to be up 38-9, before another wbf at 160 and 171 lifted the Irish to a 50-9 lead. Those darn forfeits brought the score to 50-21, but then Chapman Hwt went out and won another decision making the final 53-21 and wondering, where were the Irish earlier!
Each team picked up a win and a loss tonight and had a lot of heads scratching for sure!

Jess said that they just were not ready for Wamego. Wamego will surprise a lot of teams who think that they will be a pushover. After all, didn't they beat Concordia in a dual earlier in this season? Anyway, the coach gave them all a good tongue lashing and fired them back up for Council Grove. I think many of the kids on the Chapman squad were thinking ahead to the Concordia tournament and forgot to focus on that night's task. I hope it is not the same when they go to Marysville next Tuesday.

If Chapman loses at Marysville, I really don't see us beating any league team left on the schedule unless we start wrestling to our capabilities.

I don't think Chapman will lose to Marysville. If that happens they should get kicked out of the league.

7-6 I think was the final score for Scheideman.
