Steve O, I must say I am disheartened. To want law and order is truly respectable. But to "completely support the moderators" is plain insanity.
Are some of the moderators noble? Absolutely. I have absolutely no problem with Jike Muby. Class act. (In fact, I don't even have a huge problem with Pob anymore, for he has shown wisdom and a kind heart on some matters.) The moderators also do us forum-lovers a great service, providing us with a place to share our witty banter and become better acquainted with our Steve and/or Hat Town brothers.
However, are moderators not human? Do they not have flaws? Is not a certain moderator (*coughLentcough*) a little too quick on his editing trigger finger? If you say nay, I suggest you consult the "Other" section of this forum. Perhaps that will change your tune.
The moderators are wonderful men, and the time and effort they spend on this site is appreciated by all. (Even Jhris, may he R.I.P.) However, to fully and completely support the moderators, warts and all, is analogous to supporting all actions of the United States government since our nations birth. Now, I'm not saying unnamed moderators support slavery, but I do happen to think one or two of them can get a little too Ashcroft-ey for my tastes.
Free the West Memphis Three. (And Jhris.)

Well, my man Prant I feel disheartened that I was left out of your eloquent dissertation, especially since I agree with most of what you say. To be honest I don’t know the details as to why Jhris was removed from the forum. I would assume that it was because of language or personal attacks, but I have mentioned to you before of the danger of assuming so I will say, “I don’t know.”
Those things being said, it has to be agreed that anarchy is not an appropriate answer. In life, as in wrestling, there has to be rules, and the refusal to follow those rules have to have consequences. With repeated rules violations there has to ultimately be disqualification, just like in wrestling. Part of the problem is that there are "different" rules for different parts of the forum. Maybe there shouldn’t be but I will be the first to say that on the Kiddies forum, I am quick to use a pen to edit or delete if personal attacks are made, especially against the kids, not so quick when coaches, clubs or adults are involved, unless they are obviously in jest. I am also quick on the kids forum to delete or edit if profanity is used. There was a posting recently on the kids forum for example talking about “balls” “nuts” etc. There was also a few other choice words that I thought probably inappropriate for a “Kids” forum and names of kids were mentioned. I did not delete the post but did change the wording in the one instance to testicles and mentioned a child as opposed to the child. That is obviously something that would probably be okay on the high school forum, if not I’m sure that even I will be edited here.
I have struggled on this issue because I found myself often enjoying the posts, banter and all with Jhris, although I really couldn’t tell if the things with Nigel was legit or not. I also felt that there were times that some of the content was questionable. I have also been confused because I haven’t seen the moderators limit “free speech,” Just moved it to another forum, “Other”. It seemed as if they were allowing the banter, wit and all just in another place. For some like myself, I guess I just have a problem understanding what was wrong with that. In all seriousness, PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME ON THIS. Personally regarding the whole Jhris thing, if I had a say I would let him back in, and you know now that I will probably receive flack for my thought here, but I don’t have a vote and I don’t know all of the facts. One last note that should be addressed; that is if we don’t like the rules do we have a right to change them and if so, how? If we can’t, we can’t, but, one recommendation is that the forums have a place where we could easily access the rules and they be s-p-e-l-l-e-d o-u-t for us so we can review them and the consequences. The truth is that the rules, to my understanding, are presently up for interpretation to each individual moderator. Now I would agree that is dangerous and inconsistency is about as valuable as a referee who calls a take down differently each period if you catch my drift. I truly believe that if Jhris, and the other High School wrestlers have stuck it out as long as they have that they would tell us that they are only asking for consistency. As a moderator, I must say that I don’t think we are giving it because we don’t have clear, well defined rules specific to the forums. That is not to complain about the forum, but to say that we can always be looking for ways to make it better and well defined rules, even if they are limited, is a start. Enough of my ramble.
