I think Strawn would pin whoever he faced at 189.

Strawn did not come close to pinning Lorson of Lansing in the finals at Holton, although he did take him down many times as he would Whitehill. Also, Edison would beat Disney and the large would win.

Sean Flynn is at 140 and Kyle Grape is at 145 for Lansing.

Strawn drilled Lorson of Seaman(not Lansing)in the finals of Holton. But you are right about one thing, he didn't pin him. By the way, Lorson beat Ryan Civils of Lansing in the semi's (7-2).

You also have to think that Thadd Taylor from Seaman has been unbeaten this season and that would put him against Payne instead of Roberts.

Furches Beat Cox this weekend in Garden City in the Semifinals on Friday night. It was a great match to watch with both wrestlers giving it their all.

I think the first line up with Pyle at 145 was stronger for the small schools, he has beaten Finley this year 14-8 @ Beloit. Just my two cents, although it might change the "dual" score.

Pyle of Sabetha dominated Finley from Colby in the 145lb championship match at the Beloit invitational. Insert him in at 145 instead of Finley and now maybe the small schools win.

140 lbs.
Zach Hentzen, jr, Maize v. Cole Garcia, sr, Colby 25-3

145 lbs.
Brandon Bonewell, jr, Goddard v. Jason Pyle, jr, Sabetha 25-6

152 lbs.
Boaz Beard, fr, Goddard v. Scott Elliot, so. Augusta 25-9

160 lbs.
Romero Cotton, so, Hutchinson v. Lance Roe, sr, Norton 25-12

171 lbs.
Jed Mamie, jr, Aquinas v. Neil Erisman, sr. DeSoto 25-18

189 lbs.
Jimmy Stewart, sr, Paola v. Jesse Strawn, sr, Hoton 25-21

Calen Born, sr, Olathe North v. Steven Foster, jr, Halstead 25-24

275 lbs.
Caleb Payne, sr, Paola v. Mike Roberts, sr, Holton 31-24

The little schools don’t win a match until 140lbs. but then the little schools come back to to within one point. The late surge is not enough as Payne secures the victory for the Big schools with a fall.
FINAL SCORE: 31-24 and the big schools win again!

Should the big schools receive more than one (1) team point for the victory at 135 lbs.?

Of course adjusting the score after that bout would also affect the final team score!

OUTSTANDING! i think either way it was be an excellent dual.
what was the score between furches and cox?

BigPin22- i didnt put jed mamie in at 171 for the big schools because he broke his leg. but either way i would take erisman.

otherwise. looks good! i think that the big schools would ultimately dominate the lower weights while the small schools have to depend upon the upper weights to bring home the victory.

Do you people fail to realize that Roberts from Holton has gotten beat by Thadd Taylor? So why would he not be even thought of wrestling Roberts? I do not think he has been touched at all this year. Leave the excuse of Payne being the returning champion out too, that is an easy way out of this one. I predict it to be Taylor and Payne in the finals of state this year.

say what?

Your post makes no sense!!!!

And since when is being the returning state champ an excuse?

TO BE THE MAN, YOU HAVE TO BEAT THE MAN!!!!!!!!

How does Erisman score 9 points for the little schools with his victory at 171 lbs.?

The score after the 189 lbs. match really is strange - the big schools lose the match and gain 6 points and Strawn wins the match and the little schools gain 10 points! How does this occur?

Taylor beat Hutton in sudden death the match before he beat Roberts. Would that be considered a touch?

And I still think that Jessen would beat them all. But Payne, Taylor and Jessen are all big school, so one of them has to wrestle Roberts to fulfill the big vs. small thing. Plus, shouldn't we be talkikg about the Rossville (sp.) kid? Didn't he beat Roberts this year?
