From what I was told, they select wrestlers from their distribution area.

I disagree, It does matter. Every post season honor you put on your resume can help you in your quest to get on a College Program.

Perhaps but what is better to have on your record, 36-1 State Champion. Or Salina Journal All Area?

I agree mostly with Nigel. I really dont think that coaches use the Journal as one of the criteria for recruiting. Some of the picks that are made do not really make a lot of sense. Yes, granted, many are deserving and it is a great honor to be on the first, second, third, or honorable mention lists, but it is just someones unprofessional opion. These guys at the Journal are not considering everything that most of us would consider. I still would like to know how many people are in on the selection process and what they use for the criteria. This is not a slam to the Journal either. THanks.

Ok so someone I probably don't even know just emailed me and told me to shut the h*** up becuase he was mad because I said that Baker can't win the award every year. I grow tired of people reading more into my post than is there. This guys says I said that Baker DOES!! win it every year. I did not say he did. Oh well as usual another anonymous warrior is hacking all over his keybaord trying to start a fight but its not worth my time.
