In the Council Grove Dual Tournament the dual between Smoky Vally and Atchison was tied so they had to go to criteria to determine the winner. They had to go all the way to the 4th criteria before it was settled.

Smoky Valley won

I believe this is the 2nd year they have had wrestling at Smoky Valley. I believe Atchison was 8-0 in duals this year coming into the tournament and went 1-4. The results are at http://www.cgrove417.org/wrestling/wrestling.htm

Lyons is something else...they give up 24pts a dual on open weights and still win convicingly. I would like to see them and Chapman match up.

I just wanted to take a minute to say congrats to the Lyons boys for their second tournament title this year. They wrestled well this weekend dispite the fact that the varsity 189 and 135 lbrs were not in the lineup. Good luck in the league tournament this weekend. I know I'm sounding like a "homer" but keep it up fellas. On a side note, Coach Schottler and Coach Hazard are doing a great job.

Did they use the official criteria or one of their own? What is official criteria?

They used official criteria. I believe the first criteria is penalty points. The second is wins followed by pins. The fourth criteria is six point matches.
