Basehor was the tourney with the most top ten state placing teams last year. It will be even better with Baldwin and SFT this year and Clay Center and Manhattan joining next year.

Can anyone post the teams that will be at Newton's Tournament of Champions this year? Will probably be most of the teams from last year, but would be nice to see if any new teams are there, or if any dropped out.

Norton will be there, bringing two #1 ranked and three #2 ranked wrestlers

The Bobcat is very tough this year and will get very much tougher next year. It is hard for me to imagine any meet being much harder than it was last year. We had a lot of state placers getting beat out of there last season. Not my place to make announcements but I understand there are some big teams coming in for the first time next year to augment what will already be very very tough this year. Glenwood is a very good program up in Iowa that brings in a lot of kids nobody thinks much about until they see them wrestle. There will be ten ranked teams there and over 70 state ranked kids, six or seven state champs and just a heck of a battle at 171 for sure with about six state placers there and a couple of state champs. Lots of weights will be similar to that. If some of you haven't seen it, it's a great tourney and very wrestler and fan freindly. It is really an enjoyable day and has the feel of a post season tourney like Newton and Derby, two great tourney's in there own right.

I can't decide which is tougher Newton or Bobcat. Newton has 10 top ten teams with 6 either 1 or 2 ranked. Basehor(sp?) has 12 top ten plus Glenwood, Iowa which is usually a top 10 team. Some key match ups at Newton: 103 Madden-Norton Crumbliss-Ark 112 Harding-Winfield Heinecker-Derby 119 Bahe-Goodland Garcia-Hutch 125 Annon-Norton Herrera-Emp 135 Pruser-CC Hill-Wichita H Craig-Hutch *140 Johnson-Norton Zouzas-Salina S 171 J. Sponsel-BC Wintz-Derby 189 Richardson-Ark Perry-Hutch (if they are both healthy) *215 Bedore-Goodland Hemmerling-Hutch
