Corey Jones wrestled for Kapaun in the mid 80's and was undefeated his junior and senior seasons, the only seasons Corey was on the varsity.

This included two championships at the prestigious Perry Tournament of Champions in Perry, Oklahoma.

Were I to research the archives at Kapaun I am reasonabley certain we could add the names of Neal Keller, Mario Pyles, Kelly Brewster and a few others.

Of recent vintage, I believe Doug Hoover lost only three times his freshman year and was undefeated his sophomore, junior and senior seasons.

From Ark City, the Ramirez, Hernandez, Munson, etc. clan, along with Justin Ware will belong in this group.

I don't think Earl Jones of Coffeyville-Field Kindley lost more than 10 matches (I think his loss total is more like 5). His last loss in high school was the state tourney finals his freshman year. He was undefeated his sophomore, junior, and senior season.

Update - Earl Jones's record was 138-6. Like I said, all 6 losses came his freshman year.

Their may be some changes in the list I posted earlier. In the spring of 2001 I sent letters to every wrestling coach in the state of Kansas asking for their schools wrestling records. I also included a copy of the then current State Wrestling Records. I had great response from coaches across the state. But like the discussion above I know we didn't get all but we had to start some were. So if you can find wrestling records that are not posted let me know. We just need to verify them.

Beau Vest from Topeka High had only 2 losses in high school.

I am sure Doug Duell from Goodland only lost one match. I think it was his freshman year and the kid who beat him was a Sr.

That would have been Pope from Hoxie. There was also another wrestler from the Wichita area that never lost to a Kansas opponent, but lost twice to Oklahoma kids. Who was that?

Boyle from Norton - I don't Know his record, but he sure impressed me.

The amazing thing about Boyle is I do not think he even placed as a freshman (may of not even qualified). I want to say he wrestled around 151 (yes that was a weight that year) or 160 and I think he got beat out of his regional. State champ the next three years!

I remember watching him in the finals his senior year. I think he pinned the kid in like 13 seconds

Boyle was dang good

I'm pretty sure Beau Tillman of Pratt only had 3 or so losses in his high school career. One of those losses came in the state finals from a guy be beat three times in the state finals. Not 100% sure but pretty stinkin close.

Yeah, I heard that. I also heard (at least according to him) that one referee's decision was a load of bull.

bobphillips...Kriegbaum lost 4 times in his career. 3 his freshman year and once his senior year. What about Dusty Spaulding from Emporia? I think he lost about a total of only 7 matches in his career and he almost took down Bo Maynes, but the ref didn't give it to him.
