Wes Harding lost to Canfield his senior year and I think again at state but can't be totally sure. Ref decision are always tough and a good idea that we got rid of it to a point. I think the Dbl Overtime we have now

Weatherhead has been going to the High School State tournament and watching since he pup. I remember them good old days and this weekend he will try and be the one wrestling in hays. He should be the one wrestling in the Championship in Hays if he was more self confident-

See I think he needs to take it. Then hit the weight hard next year and come back and not let it go- get down to 103 - really weatherhead only 3 more years at 103 and you will be able to eat again -- whats the big deal

Chris Bell of Salina Central might have lost 6-10, all in his Freshman year, the year he started wrestling and first time on the mat.

He went 84-0 his next 3 years and his Senior year nobody came within 8 points of him. He had a major, superior, or fall on all of them.

For you young bucks there was no tech fall and a superior was a win by 12 or more points. He dominated back in a time when their were some awesome wrestlers,

I still have a great amount of respest for Roy Oeser of KMC though, a 4X state champ at 155, 167, and 185, to do it at the upper weights is just awesome.

Brent Rechtfertig of Wellsville only lost two matches in high school both to the same wrestler. Effingham's Doug Speer had his number in both the regional and state his junior year.

I'm not sure of his record, but Matt Treaster from Beloit won 4 state titles (81-84), 3 at 123A and 1 at 4A. I believe that he only had a couple of losses. He was a 1998 KWCA Hall of Fame inductee.

Shoes, Beau Tillman lost in the state finals to Jeremy Long. He got pinned with 20 seconds left in the match. Jeremy hit him in the trusty ol head lock. Jeremy ended up with four state titles, but he never lost to Tillman.

Also, Kriegbaum only had 3 losses in high school. Freshman year: Andrade (Salina South), Hinderliter (Ottawa). Senior Year: Garcia (Colby). How many career losses did JB Harding have? He was an excellent wrestler! What about the Dong boys from Concordia?

Teamore Terry (sp) could never beat Justin Ware so he had several losses. Josh Gooch of Wellington only lost 1 high school match...didnt wrestle his freshman year, undefeated sophomore, lost in the state finals to David Seamonds of Spring Hill his Jr. yr and was unbeated his Sr. year. And no I'm not in love with Gooch...just a small man crust. Also EK Franks from Wellington (3 timer I believe) had to have a great career record.

Dyer was third at the Junction City Tourney his Sophomore year, he was coming off an injury.

Layton from Independence lost only twice, once by injury disqualification and once his freshman year at Eldorado to Watson of Schlagle other than that he was clean and a four timer

Triston Deshazer from Wichita West has over 100 wins and only 3 losses, 2 of them to Tommy Edgmon. He is only a Junior and will more than likely go undefeated at State and all next year.

Two wrestlers who were not included on the list are both from Concordia

Dave Canfield 1985-88 115-5 .958
Jon Dong 1988-91 110-6 .948

I was suprised NOT to see Wes Harding on Bob's list. (By the way, his referee's decision loss in the state finals was to Lance Shepard from Hoxie) I figured Rechfertig would be on there, I was lucky enough to have been one of his 100 victims. Tough Kid! I would be curious to know how many on that list wrestled above say 119 or 125 their freshman year. Anybody?

Also, what about Chris Bolling (I believe that was his name) from Immaculata?
