There are many clubs in Wichita-it depends on where you are going to live or where you want to drive to in town. We are at Wichita Wrestling Club on the east side of Wichita-Central and Rock Rd. and we practice on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights at 6:00. We would love to have him come over and see what the club has to offer.

There are a lot of good kids clubs around the Wichita area. Mr. Gentzler and those at WWC (they practice at Kapaun High School) are a great group of coaches. They not only encourage local wrestling, but take their kids to national tournaments as well. One of the things about WWC is they also invite some of the more advanced kids from nearby communities to work out with them; the stronger the club, the stronger the individual. I would also invite you to check out the Andover club on the east side. We are in a transitional stage right now, board members are changing and a few coaching changes, and would welcome strong wrestling supporters to be involved with the program.

Dario~ It's nice to hear that you are moving to Wichita and we will be seeing more of Paco at tournaments now....are you still going to coach? Good Luck to Paco and all the other boys/girls in his age/weight bracket. Hope we'll see you soon. Are you going to the Hillboro takedown?

I would also encourage you to try out several clubs, all of those mentioned are good ones. A lot has to do with what you want for your child. I know that Derby has a number of good kids at the weight your son is at. We are going to have a total of over 100 wrestlers including Advanced and Novice with the use of two rooms for practice purpose.

Some may not like this, but my belief is that it is hard to do wrong with the majority of clubs in the Wichita area, from Andale to Maize and from Derby to WWC and I could name numerous others there are good clubs and good coaches. If you want to give Derby a try you can call me at 316 841-5814 (cell) 316 943-6786 (Home)for practice times, you can also email if you want.

grsmurf~ We are moving to Wichita real soon so I hope to see at tournaments. As far as going to Hillsboro's tournament I don't think so but I think we are going to try out Maize wrestling club. I hope I can still coach but that will depend on the club we are with.Good Luck with your season & again thank you for your reply.
