I can't speak for anyone else here, but I am certainly not trying to "goad" anyone into anything. But what I am doing, admittedly in what is somewhat of a selfish manner, is hoping to witness what would be the most anticipated rematch in memory.

Fanatic, you are certainly entitled to your opinion and I will respect you for voiceing it. But I choose to disagree on this subject matter for the following reason.

In February of 2001, following his state championship loss to Matt Pyle, Shawn Drennan purportedly announced that he would be competing at whatever weight Pyle chose to compete at the following year, regardless of his own size.

In doing so he raised several eyebrows and heard a lot of folks express doubt in his judgement. But in doing so, and holding true to his word, he also earned a lot of respect.

His commitment and effort paid off in what was probably the most exciting match at last year's 3-2-1A state meet.

I'm sorry, but I see nothing wrong with that type of commitment and/or strategy. And if Pyle chose to do the same this year, it would only add to the incredible amount of respect that I already hold for him - regardless of the eventual outcome.

Again, please feel free to disagree if you so choose. All I ask is that you please do not hold me in contempt for expressing a differing opinion.
