Weatherbee had complete control? I didn't see it. Orozco got in deep a couple times on some shots but just couldn't get the finish and Weatherbee won a few scrambles and the match, but a 6-5 decision is in now way "complete control". Orozco already has 2 runner-up medals and another state medal, with this being his senior year and last shot at winning a title I don't see him being denied, He has done what it takes to try to win the crown, as I said I've wrestled both of them, Orozco is better to me as he's pinned me twice and Weatherbee none, just my opinion though

Orozco didn't score those times, because Weatherbee countered him perfect and scored, also Weatherbee as well has 2 runner-up medals and with his loss last year in the last few seconds i dont see Orozco beating him. As for you wrestling both of them, each wrestler has his own style of wrestling which works on some and not on others, therefore, them wrestling you doesn't even matter due to the fact that you lay on the mat like a little girl and don't move. Also Weatherbee has already pinned and beat Orozco 6-5 so I beleive once again that you suck and have no idea what you are talking about Josh

I think Norton and Oakley will be 1 and 2, but 3 should be interesting between Silver Lake, Saint Francis and ACCHS

Weatherbee's 6-5 decision over Orozco in the Prairie Sr. was a match controlled by Weatherbee? That's laughable. It was a hard fought match. I'm not going to make a prediction but Tait and everyone else better wrestle awfully well at State if they face Orozco. He's on fire - wrestling by far the best he ever has. Good luck to Tait and Simon!

Having wrestled in NW Kansas and now residing in NE Kansas I try to follow the 3,2,1A schools out here as much as I can. As I sat here looking at some stats and assessing the Silver Lake argument I decided to throw my $.02 in for thought.
I look at it as Silver Lake qualifying 8. 3 of their wrestlers placed 4th at Onaga. No offense to them (great job and good luck) but I don't see a 4 seed from an eastern regional making much of a splash. Of the remaining 8, 4 are underclassmen. I don't know how many of the young ones qualified last year, but it's quite a learning experience your first time to Hays for sure. Lamar and the older Mellies have a good shot at the finals and probably half of the other 6 will place. 5 medals is a good showing, but it's not going to match up to the 4 or 5 finalists Norton "could" land.
Anything can happen, that's why they wrestle the matches... but I'm saying top 5 finish, probably not top 3. Coach Lamar has done a great job in building a quality, competitive program though and I would kind of be tickled to see them bring home 3rd. (Provided my alma mater is in 2nd.)

Simon is a very solid wrestler and his only down fall may be once he hits the finals- he might not wrestle his match and be to careful not to lose. He has pinned all of his competition in the regionals and is looking good heading to state. Tait is good as well I just think Simon looks to be the best as of right now. In a week I may be wrong.

Norton for Sure. Oakley, well it depends just how good those big guys are. I am not convinced Oakleys big fellows are for real. If they are, then they will be right there with Norton, If not then they are a top 5 team

After watching teams througout the year, the regional tourny and looking at the state brackets I predict 1)NORTON 2)ST. FRANCIS 3)OAKLEY 4)HOXIE 5)SILVER LAKE.

Hey, I'm not ashamed of my prediction. I was wrong... life goes on...
All I'm saying is it would be easy and obvious to "go out on a limb" and pick Norton to win. That's like predicting Conway Springs to win 3a football every year, it's the easy pick. I like picking underdog teams to win. If I'm wrong, so what? It's not like these forums are life or death...
