Elijah Madison you are the man. 6...5...4 the clocks running down...3 looks up at the clock and is losing 1-0 and BAM! lateral drop that brings the crowd to a hush and then madness broke out. With his feet barely in bounds...the two was rewarded. Congrats man. nothing against the NW HWT but that was sweeeeeeeeeeet! Thoroughly impressed, Andrew Gossett

It was good to see a heavyweight finally receive Outstanding Wrestler honors ... although, after that finish, it would have been a crime to have not given it to him! The match was an extremely tough battle for all six minutes, against two great opponents, with a ending that took your breath away.

Did someone say something negative about the benefits of a Greco / Freestyle Move?

Mike brings up a point I've never thought about. I can't remember a heavyweight ever winning outstanding wrestler - maybe Jeff Boyle at State. But during a regular season tournament I can't think of any that have won. Way to go Elijah!

I admit I haven't been to the number of high school tournaments that many of you have. But based on the tournaments I have been to ... one of the reason that the heavys may not win more is usually at about the same time the the heavy matches are getting ready to wrestle the tournament directors are encouraging the coaches to get their ballots for OW turned in if they haven't already done so. Tournament directors - I know you want to be fast but please don't ask for the ballots until the wrestling is done. And great job Elijah!!
