I'm looking at dropping from 132-135 (depends on the day) to 119, what's the best way to go about doing this? I know hard work, runing, not eating, dehydration, any other methods that take weight off easily? Does anyone think this is possible?

I don't know. Are you fat? If so, you better start laying off the ho-hos and Mountain Dew. Otherwise, lower your calories and start running everyday while trying to lose 1-2 lbs. per week starting now. In six weeks you'll be close to where you want to be, but don't not eat (sorry about the double negative.)

i'm in football so i run enough during the day, and i don't really eat much junk food, but i love pepsi...yum... but will eating only one good meal a day help? like fruit for breakfast and lunch then a good meal for supper will that work to lower carbs? thanks for the help also

I was the king of dropping weight in high school 170 to 135, and used the method that you were talking about-eating one meal a day and running all the time. Now that I am out of high school and have looked back at to how I handeled my weight loss and how I could have handeled it, I know that I did it all wrong. It worked at the begining, but at the end of the season I had muscle depleation and my conditioning went to crap no matter how much I ran or how hard I practiced. I think that you would be better off eating smaller meals through out the day and keeping yourself hydrated. This will allow you to keep your strength and focus through out the entire season. Do some research on diets used by the top notch wrestlers and get ideas. Work hard

Do you realize you just told a high school student to do some research?

cutting weight is tough, i'd stick to that diet. you've got a good range you're cutting from so it shouldn't be too hard either.

I cut from 137 to 119 my sr yr, so what your attempting is very do-able. Start eating 5-6 healthy small portions a day. This will speed up your metabolism and train your stomach to be full on lighter meals. Run about 3-5 miles three times a week at least also.

By the time the season starts, keep on doing this til about a Wednesday night practice and then start eating maybe two tiny meals after that and bust out the sweat suit. You'll need to cut hella water weight, so cut back on the water on thursday and obviously Friday before weigh ins. Follow these tips, and your for sho to lose the pounds.

Yeah, well I went from 217 to 171, which is three pounds more. So take THAT.

If you're cutting weight, I would recommend a steady diet of pop-tarts and nothing else. (Actually, raspberry ice crystal light is also permitted in moderation. And gummy bear vitamins.) One package has about 410 calories and weighs 3.78 ounces. (405 for frosted strawberry, 410 for s'mores.) Sure it won't fill you up and it's incredibly un-nutritious, but they sure are delicious. Seriously.

when i cut weight, it was like 4 oranges and a gatorade for lunch, and possibly another gatorade after practice, but not the big gatorades just the normal medium sized ones, the mini ones are probably a good size too, you might be able to get 3 or 4 of those.

But did you do it in a month Prant? If so then I'll just tip my cap to you.

And I always liked butter popcorn. I mean hey, it's light as air, you can't gain weight on it! Ha ha ha...

I was good until I got sick and died out in the second half of the season and at state. I was like 16-3 before Christmas break and then I ended up at around 29-15. If I hadn't gotten sick I'd have been fine, but I think some of it had to do with how I lost the weight. Plus I was really weak. Not that that changed during my senior year. :p

Ya, LancerM was never strong, in his entire life, ever, and he sucks, don't listen to him... ever.

I broke my toe at state... but I still got a better medal than Lancerm.

Umm i was 17-4 before i dislocated my elbow and was 6-5 or something after.

This year will be the first time in my wrestling career where i will not struggle to make weight. College practices are so intense that dropping weight isn't even an issue. Like right now im struggling to keep my weight up so i don't loose it all to early in the season. And im cutting like 15 pounds.

So my advice is work your *** off and the weight will come off naturally.

ENJOY!!!
