Yes, but not until the 2005-06 season. According to Rick Bowden, 4A in Salina with four mats to run a tournament similar to the 321A state. And 5A and 6A still looking for a venue.

The Salina Bi-Centennial Center. I think 4A has found a great home in the Bi-Center and you probably won't want to change it back. I am a little envious.

Sweet! Kudos to 4a for getting Salina a city that is always on the rise and expanding. Salina already hosts the state basketball tournament along with NJCAA National Championships in basketball. It is about time that wrestling makes its mark there as well too. I wouldn't mind seeing 5 or 6a join into the mix as I'm sure there will be room at the venue.

No Aaron, there is not room at the Bi-Center to add 5A and 6A. It will be really comfortobale with just 4A alone, you could possibly add another class, but that would leave 6A on their own (or 5A) I know the 4A coaches have been pushing for this for some time and I don't blame them.

Does anyone know whether the plan is to keep 5A and 6A together or are they looking for two new sites? Anyone know where they are considering?

I hope this isn't a case of things being worse than they were before. I'd agree that Wichita had some issues, but was it worth dealing with those things to see some of the matches we've seen? Cornejo handling Zuesus (sorry if the spelling is wrong) and digging back to when I was in high school Justin Ware and Teymor Terry in the finals, Bo Maynes, and many others I can't think of right now. I also thought it was pretty cool for the kids to perform in such a large venue and crowd. I wonder if Salina, being more centrally located, will draw a similiar crowd even though there will be less competitors. Just some random thoughts to keep this post fresh.

Coach Lane,
Who is going to be the "Official" host of the tournament since SS & SC are both 5A? I know it's a KSHAAA event, but Andover & the CTL always kind of took the lead when it was at the Masoleum, oh I'm sorry I meant the Coliseum.

4a schools that are close are Concordia, Abilene, clay center, and chapman they all could help host it. I know Augusta has had a lot of people help in the past (but it would be further for them) Goodland I'm sure would volunteer...they have great support.

I like the move just so I don't have to drive to Wichita any more and waste money on rooms.

Well put Chewie! BTW I was in Clay Center today with a bunch of motorcyclists we stopped at some bar on the 1st leg of a poker run. So if you heard revving of engines that was my fault!

This is the one of the best decisions made by the KSHSAA ever. Words can't describe how happy I am. I wish 5A and 6A the best and hope they find a location that they are happy with, and say GOOD FOR 4A!!

Hovpen,
Guess you'll have to make a decision as to which tournament to go to. By the way did you get to go to the Butler v. Coffeyville football game yesterday? I heard it was just as exciting as the last 2 times those teams met up.

Bob become your own boss or when Christian D. Orr starts making tons of money on the KPW you can be his main reporter for the southern part of the state!

Can't, boss makes too much $ and I'm too dependent on her. And I've been in this forum more today than I was all summer. no more.
