Congratulations to Emporia High for winning the Centennial League for the 23rd straight year. The streak began long before any of the current Spartans were even born and this group of Emporia wrestlers can be proud that they have continued this tradition and even did their predecessors one better by setting a league record for points scored and for number of individual league champions(nine). To put into perspective what Emporia accomplished consider that if the finals were a dual between Emporia and the other 5 Centennial League schools, Emporia would have won 40-27.Well done!

It is going to be real interesting with Manhattan and Junction City joining the league next year to see just when the streak will end.

I'm happy I'll be gone for that, I have a feeling that Manhattan will take over though.

Emporia is tough and I wouldn't exactly say Manhattan will take over especially since Emporia is fairly young. I am pretty sure the streak will probably end sometime in the next few years though.
