My pick would have to be Jacob Strait from concordia he is one of the best 189 pounder I watched all season. The only one better was Dyer He was prolly the 2nd best 189 pounder the 2001-2002 season and the word on the streets is he will be wrestling 189 next year, So good luck Mr. Strait

Jake Kriegbaum, Earl Jones & Eric Johnson were all undefeated last year and they are returning.
I would say Earl Jones would be "most unstoppable". He didn't have many close matches last year. This being his Senior year, I don't see anyone challenging him.

Anderson County had a down year this year but they usally have a decent team. They return 4 guys with winning records and have two state qualifiers returning. They dont have any state placers returning.

Anderson County is alright, they are in a farely tough league though. What weight bracket will you more than likely be in? Their league consist of Anderson County, Prarie View, Loisuburg, Oswatomie, Paola, Wellsville, Spring Hill, Eudora, Baldwin and Gardner.

Paola is always good. Coach Harris is doing a great job at Baldwin improving his team. Wellsville has had 8 placers in the last 3 years. Spring Hill finished 3rd in league and is another team that is always tough. The league is always tough Anderson County is one of the lower teams in the league probably though.

i weigh about 155 right now but i willl be wrestling 135-140. my frosh year i wrestled 119,(this season i weighed about 140) this year i wrestled guys up to 165. i wrestled on JV because MSHSAA thought that my coach had recruted me(cannot do that in public schools), so the state sat me on the bench for a season..... i hated it because ther was no competition. my closest point spread was 7 pts. there were only 6 matches that did not end in a tech or a pin. it was fun winning .... but i wish someone would have gave me a decent match.

Eric Johnson,Earl Jones,Jake Kreighbaum, will not be beat the rest of there high school career. These kids are amazing wrestlers and have a bright college career awaiting them.

P.S.
I did hear that Norton will more than likely be 3a agian next year, but this wont effect eric's outcome at all.

Hey raymore missouri, I don't know if you want to drop that much weight? You better be strong when wrestle Earl Jones, Eric Luedke, Eric Johnson, Nathan Allison, Jeremy Terrell, Danny Grater etc...

You want tougher matches, you got it.

Are you a Senior next year?

i am going to be a jr next year, i am just starting to cut wieght, i have 15 lbs or so to go. the reason for me cutting now is so that i can be healthier during the season. my frosh year i would be loosing anywhere from 7-10 pounds 2 days before the meet. but then i would gain all of it straight back. this was a never ending proccess. who are these people that u say will give me competiton? give me some stats and/or records.

I could easily see Jake Kriegbaum losing in his last two years of high school. He is a great wrestler, but not the best. For example, when he went down to Southern Plains he got 4th in a 5 man bracket being teched by everyone(not totally sure about that) expect the guy he placed above. If he wants to get serious consideration from great wrestling colleges, he will have to come up a weight class and start wrestling tougher opponents.

raymore missouri, Your league is a good one but at those weights I can't think of to many? The Osawatomie kid wasn't bad? I don't know what tournaments Anderson County go to. There are some tough kids. Go to the links page and then click on the State results 6A,5A,4A you can see everyone's record and how they did last year. The kids I named will be back but at this time you really don't know at what weight.

As for the metro classic you have to be a Senior.

Seniors to be, you have to get ready after State next year things will come up faster. The Metro Classic then the east-west Classic (which next year will be called the Senior Classic) then the High School Nationals which is moved up a week. They signed a two year deal to keep it in Clevland, Ohio but they moved it to the same week as our kids State Tournament. So next year it will go:

H.S.STATE
METRO CLASSIC
SENIOR CLASSIC
DIVISION I NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS (ticket order due May 15th)
H.S. NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Make sure you get all your paper work in on time.

hey raymore, we aren't at all a bad team, we won the league title 3 years ago, and had a good team last year, this year we had a down year, i wouldn't say that we are in the lower half of the league in wrestling like jeremy says, we have a good freshman class, and a couple kids who could make an impact on varsity next year. at 140 you should make varsity if your decent, our 140 state placer this year graduates, so there should be an open spot, as far as the league goes, there is a stirling kid from spring hill that'll be at about 140, adn hte louisburg 130 might be up there, but other than that i don't know of any good kids who are back.

Peter,
Where did you finish in the league meet this year. Thats how I was saying that you are on the lower half of the league. Dont forget about the Wellsville kid that wrestled 135 this year if he does wrestle next year he was having some problems with the coaching at the end of the year. so I dont know what will happen there or with my brother for that point.

I agree on Earl Jones cause he's a lot stronger than most 125 and 130 pounders. And a good wrestler.

What about Jeremy Terrell from Rose Hill he finished fourth in a very very tough bracket. Which was probably the toughest bracket at state this year.
