Does anyone have the results of the Big 7 league meet that was wrestled Feb.5th at Hiawatha.
I heard Royal Valley won that and thought Effingham would win it.

You heard right, Royal Valley Won the meet, ACCHS took second. Don't have the team results. They'll be posted, when I get them...

Congrats to Atchison County Community High School on winning the Big 7 League Championship last night with a 57-23 victory over Sabetha. This leaves ACCHS at 5-0 and league champs. Sabetha will finish 3rd if Royal Valley can beat Holton and Jeff West tonight, Royal Valley will finish 2nd with a 4-1 record having lost a 14 point decision to ACCHS last week.
P.S. There is no Effingham High School although ACCHS is located in Effingham

Why is it the Big 7 if they only wrestle 5 duals.....does one league school not have wrestling?
And what was the final score between Strawn and Pursell at the league tourney?

Actually there are 8 schools in the Big 7 but only 6 currently have wrestling. They are
ACCHS, Royal Valley, Sabetha, Holton, Hiawatha and Jeff West. Nemaha Valley and Maur Hill presently do not have wrestling although both have in the past and at one point
nemaha Valley was pretty darn good with some great wrestlers (Eric Koehler 3X State Champ)
Also both Shawnee Heights and Immaculata have competed in Big 7 wrestling previously but neither are in the league any longer.

Stawn beat Pursel 9-5. He put Pursel on his back for 5 and it was about even after that. You can't spot a great kid 5pts and expect to come back. Good luck to both of them at state. They should both be state champs again since they are in different classes.
