In 6A there are a total of four ranked freshman:
Jake Tanenbaum 112-2nd BVN Philip Henes 112-5th STA Steve Miller 119-6th MAN Gabe Munoz 125-4th Wich.South
I would say these 4 have lived up to their hype or have exceeded it

Arnold of Carroll continues to show his strength by pinning his opponent in the Carroll vs South dual. This is the most outstanding wrestler I have seen in the GWAL in a long time. Being only a freshman he also won the Newton tournament by beating all Sr's in his weightclass. Congradulations Mitch.

Kepka, 103#s from Lyons isn't far behind all the good ones already stated. He's a freshman, has only lost one match, that being to a wrestler from Nebraska.

a freshman that alot of people are not talking about are tyler koehn he has only had 3 losses under his belt wich makes him 20-3 a pretty outstanding record and those 3 losses are only from derby a very tough tournament i expect to see tyler in the finals for regionals him and model will have one hell of a match i beleive tyler koehn could be a next state champion at 119 this year

There's a kid from Garden Plain, I can't remember what weight he wrestled, but he looked really tough at the Eureka tournament. If I remember correctly though he is still undefeated.

i was looking at the bracket at 145 and this ROMEO CROTTON is a freshman and he dominated Chaz Hill by the look of the score and he is no chump, so he muct be pretty darn good
and Jake Tannenbaum has defenitely lived up to hype if he ever had any, but he sure has recognition now
CAN I BE A STATE CHAMP?.....uh? duh!

No worries. That's just funny, given Romero's character.

The bigger weights are much tougher to compete in for younger guys--most 215/heavyweight wrestlers are usually more developed upper classmen.
Congrats, Aquinas! Great job, Hat Town! Salyer Rules!

I thought Romeo lost to Chaz Hill (9-0) in the finals
