People are talkin like pullium is a push over or something, he proved last night against ubben that he is no joke, I would look for him to do good things at nationals ubben to.

Pulliam is definitely not a push over, but he did a great job of blocking off and circling last night to keep Ubben off him. I don't think that he was ever really in the match, but he kept it close and gave himself opportunities.

it says above that the score was 1-0 so he was obviously in the match the whole time good luck at nationals kevin

He didn't initiate much of the action. It seemed that Ubben was chasing him around most of the match. From the other matches I've seen Kevin wrestle, that did not seem to be his style. I wish him the best of luck at nationals as well. I thought that the score was 3-1, but I guess I was wrong. That's beside the point though. I don't think that the match was as close as the score indicated, Ubben controlled the tempo and action of the match. That was the point I was trying to make.

Hey Stik;
Hummm, 1-0, a runaway win for Ubben. Anyway you cut it 1-0 is pretty squeaky tight.

What was the result of the Charbonneau vs. Hoover match-up? That sounded like an interesting pairing.

I am the assistant coach at Bishop Carroll and I have watched for weeks now as people (i.e. ssss and crowley) bash Seiler, and watch others praise Dukes as the best 145 pounder in the state while Vogel ranks somewhere below Dukes and Chrisman. I have not said anything because I believe wrestling should speak for itself.
Well last night it did. Seiler beat Staab the best in the state (as he did Hemmerling and everyone else he faced). Dukes once again lost, and Vogel handled the undefeated Chrisman.
I don't like to talk trash or want to incite more insults between you guys, I just think we should let the results speak for themselves.
And if you need more proof let us see how everyone does at High School Nationals. Whoever does better there should be able to stand on those merits.

RW, I never claimed that it was a runaway match for Ubben, just thought that the score was a little misleading to the actual match, that's all. If you'd pay a little more attention to what is actually said in my posts I wouldn't have to repeat myself.

I am sort of mystified as to why everyone piles on Matt Dukes. I know the kid and I think he is a good one. By the way the kid that beat him in the Kansas Missouri match was a load and he would have been tough on anyone anywhere. Fisher is a pretty talented dude. Matt is a good kid and a good wrestler. He doesnt make any excuses when he loses and he is a darn good competitor and I enjoy watching him go at it. Hey he is a high school kid doing the best he can and it has been pretty good. I know you are all trying to make a point about this kid or that kid but why do it at his expense. He must be pretty good a lot of you have spent a lot of time thinking about him on here in topics that have nothing to do with him. Give him a break.

Not to take anything away from Sellar but Staab looked nowhere near the way he did this seasson. And it seemed Pulliman ran from Ubben a lot. It woudnt of even been close had that happen. But I would have to say one of the biggest upsets of the nite was Wise's pin over Breeze.

Seiler took a lot of wrestlers out of their game plan this year and made them look like they were just having a very bad day. I was just Staab's turn.

How can you say that about matt dukes? How can you say that Blake takes people out of their game when my boy matt dukes is such an explosive wrestler?!!!

321aWrestler,
You typically don't look as good when you wrestle someone better than you.

In my opinion Staab totally dominated about the first 3 minutes. I do know Staab wasnt in as good as condition as he was in around state time. Which is why Sellar dominated the last 3 minutes. Another thing to look at is Staab hasnt had the competion as Sellar had this season.
