After Newton and Basehor? hmmm? If this FHSU deal works out it could be up there. I think the Goodland duals are tough...have to think of more later.

The Beloit Tourney is tough. The Eagle Invite is a tough dual tourney in Colby.( 2 days 18 teams)

We added Newton to our schedule this year and we are really excited to go there for some great competition.

Does anybody else remember when St. Mary's Tournament was one of the tougher tournaments in the state? I remember seeing some ultra tough teams at that during the late 90's.

Not certain if any of you have thought of this tourny but every year Norton Blue Jays host a tournament called the Wild Wild West Show I would rate it among the top or at least for the past few years 65-90% of the wrestlers in the tournament are state placers along with state qualifiers.

I heard that Matt Niehues always had the girls swooning over him at that tournament.

While I would agree with you that the Norton Tourney is tough- it is called the Jake Durham Invitational, named after the hall of fame coach from Norton.

What teams were there Swayz? I wrestled in the mid to late 90's and never hear mention of that tourney before. Of course, I was mostly out west so we didn't hear alot of what happened in the east.

Rosehill, Derby, and BVNW are all usually good tournaments also, BVNW is like a who's who of 6a although last year at 119 BVNW was basically an all state with Deshazer, Edgmon and Wall all in the same braket, not to mention the other good kids to.

I believe that Garden City was the only Kansas tournament ranked nationally last year. Of course, everyone will think that they tournament schedule that they see is amont the toughest, but a better indicator might be the records of the state placers relative to what tournaments they went to.

I think that the Garden City Invite, Goodland Holiday Classic, Colby Dual Tourney, and Norton tourney are the toughest ones
