I wanted to post something pertaining to our tournament this weekend. Due to the large numbers of entries we accepted, we have exceeded the capacity of our facility. We can normally support a tournament of 500-550 wrestlers. We will have approximately 700 this weekend. We accepted this many entries not because of greed, but because we did not want to turn anyone away and not allow a team participate. In the past this has caused some problems with other clubs. Even though we attempted to appease everyone, we still had to turn over 150 entries away.
Because of the number of entries, we are going to add an additional mat. By doing this, we hope to keep our match numbers for each session at a manageable level. We will also try and have an adequate wrestling area available for each division.
- In the past the mat tables were on the ends of the mat. We will have to put the tables on the sides. This could restrict the view from the bleachers. Please try and keep everyone in the stands.
- If you still owe money from entries, please have it ready the morning of the tournament and turned in prior to the coaches meeting.
- 2 coaches per corner, this will be strictly enforced.
- Please be patient with our table workers, officials and other volunteers. It will be stressful day due to the numbers.
- Notify your parents of the possible issue. Ask them to be understanding and patient.
