I just wanted to know what everyone thought about the Senior Classic's most delicious matches. Who impressed/surprised the most? (Don't mention Annon/Kriegbaum, we've already heard about it.)

Who looked best? Who can now claim to be the ma-ohnyest of all ma-ohns?

Prant, what was your score last year in the Senior Classic and who did you wrestle? It seems to have slipped my mind....

I personally thought that Prater was amazing, and I now have a huge man-crush on him for completely destroying the guy who completely destroyed Shilling. Bobby Dennis was also very ma-hony to me. Brady Huck too, eventhough he was still tired after I had caught my breath 5 hours later.

Prater is a guy that a you have to respect. there is virtually never any talk on here about him, and its because he is quiet, doesn't participate in post match debates, and has little or no fan base, as Pratt generally has about 16 people in the stands at tournaments. But he has wrestled through kids with several state titles there, 5 I think, and has finished as high as third at Tulsa. Last summer on the freestyle tour he beat jake, not that it counts for much as it was post season freestyle, and not to say it wouldn't go the other way next time, but it gives one some idea of his versatility. I really think he'll do well at the national tournament, I guess we'll see. The western guys really put on a show at the classic (from what I hear) but I really don't think it is indicative of the balance of power right now, just in the group of seniors that was chosen and the way that they matched up. Jhris-- How did Gilliland look? I was hoping that he would do well there , but didn't want to take time off work to travel to the match. sounds like I missed a good one-- think I'll mark it on the calendar for next year.

I agree, Prater is very ma-hony. I remember him losing to Earl Jones back in the day and thinking he was good. Gilliland looked really good Mike. He owned the guy he wrestled pretty bad.

You mentioned something interesting Jhris. Prater was a bad!!@. I was thoroughly impressed by his strength and speed on the mat. I was informed the gentleman he wrestled was no slouch either, which says alot for prater. A name you don't hear very often is Bobby Dennis. Why? I understand he is one of the few undefeated kids in the state as well as a 2timer. He's not incredibly flashy but he hardly ever is out of position and strong as hell. And if I'm not mistaken, isn't that Jack Dennis's little brother. I seem to remember him being pretty tough once upon a time.

He'll probably get away with it too, some people think us athletes get away with murder...just look at OJ!

Horinek is good, but he isn't one of the top 215ers ever. And I would probably get killed, but I don't care because I'm bad. No biggie.

Jack Dennis the best 215 in Kansas history? BwabwaWHAT? I'm sure he was an excellent wrestler, but I've never heard of the guy. When did he wrestle, how many titles did he win, what did he do after high school, etc?

I think Carrol or Chaney are probably the best two ever (mainly because I don't know the oldies). Your thoughts, Jhris and Dingbat?

I'm pretty sure Carrol is our highest placing 215 ever. That makes him #2 in my book, way behind Orren Prohaska. Carrol was also a national qualifier as a true freshman at App. State, and that's not exactly terrible.

jack just won it as a senior. i believe that he was undefeated. there were also two other undefeated wrestlers at 215 that year. some kid from eastern kansas and montgomery. one he pinned and majored montgomery in the finals. maybe not the best of all time as far as his resume but one to be reckoned with.
