Lets flip the coin here. WHo are some of the most overrated wrestles in all classes? And the name can't start with Aaron Bartels because he's hurt. Ignore the last comment and just answer the question.

ENJOY!!!

If you kids don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

This is an easy one. Chris Jennings, by a long shot.

if someone is mentioned a lot in the wrestling family, then it is either because they are a pretty good wrestler or just devoted to the sport. To say "overrated" kind of gets into my skin, especially when people use it to refer to people that may not be "overrated," they might just be having a slump. There are many more wrestlers that are far to often "underrated" then those of the other mentioned title.

Personally I've never liked the idea of having rankings during the season. All they do is cause controversy and often aren't even accurate. To call someone overrated isn't really fair because they might not have deserved to be ranked where they were in the first place. I guess to me I just assume that you let your wrestling do the talking and worry about where you or someone else is ranked after the season is over.

Good wrestlers do have slumps. All good athletes have instances where they did not perform perfectly. For a wrestler, it may be a match they lost or won. You may be a good wrestler but have a slump and fail to dominate a tourney or match that you should have. Or you may get beat by another wrestler close to your ability because of a bad match or slump.

All athletes have had a slump at some point in their career. Good quarterbacks have 2 or 3 INT games, good hitters have 0-4 games, good golfers have bad rounds, and all athletes in all sports slump at some point!

The real question of greatness resides in your ability to overcome a slump, win when your not at your best, and put in the hard work and mental preparation to avoid another slump.

RJW, I do not know Dingbat on a personal level, but I believe he was trying to say,

"Dingbat does not have slumps." He is way wrong, of course, but I have a hunch he's also way fat.

And while Chris Jennings may be overrated, he is still undefeated. And while 215 isn't the most impressive class in the state, that's still saying something. Perhaps one day Chris will join us on the forum, for he is quite a funny sidekick.

The state tournment is believed to settle overrated controversy. Until last years state tournment in the 6A 135 bracket. Chaz Hill is a great wrestler but Sultani and Patterson kind of got screwed because they were stuck on the same side of the bracket as S. Hill. So one could argue that the state tournment doesn't settle anything.

ENJOY!!!

Am I wrong or am I right. If you wrestled the State Tournament 2 weeks in a row, or even three, how many different outcomes do you think it would have? It's about performing at the right time. Has there ever been a kid with a losing record place or even win state.

Slumps do happen and yes, there are wrestlers who are overrated. How many kids come into the state Tourney with 32-1 records or undefeated, and don't make the Semi's or even lose there first match. It's all about your competition throughout the year. "To be the best, you have to beat the best"

The state or national tournament is "show time". Do it right, or call it a season. Your choice.

You guys are misunderstanding me. Yes, good wrestlers sometimes lose matches. However, a truly good wrestler does not put himself in a situation where he loses consecutive matches due to some sort of mental block. That is reserved for better-than-average wrestlers and Prant.

Furthermore, I wasn't talking about quarterbacks and baseball players. I was talking about good wrestlers. And Prant's mom.

Congrats, Aquinas!

I apologize for stepping outside "the box" to explain that all athletes have slumps or fail to perform at some point in their careers. I am sorry if my totally illogical and wildly ignorant reference to other sports and athletes confused you in some way. I will try to narrow my obviously way too open mind when on this forum.

I'll just take that to mean that you think I'm SUPER-better-than-average...meaning you think I'm amazing. Which I totally am.

Cool out with that man crush, buddy.

Good wrestlers have slumps, great wrestlers do not. Its okay to lose 1 match maybe 2 but never in a row and never by more than a takedown.
