Who is the strongest wrestler in the state at their weight class? I know Hemmerling is probably the strongest at 215lbs and maybe Essex at 130lbs. I'm just curious to what everyone thinks.

at the hoyt-royal valley regional, 160lbs. Medill from Lansing looked bigger than the 189ers, and most of the 215

oh yeah, actually i think this year it is vashon perryman from ottawa. i competed against him in a weightlifting competition a few years ago and he was in the 140 weight class and he absolutly blew all of us away. he woulda won the next couple weight classes i believe.

I heard last year that Doug Hoover (while wrestling 125) bench maxxed 280. I'm not for sure if that is true but not too many 215 pounders can get that much

I don't know if you want to put too much money on that. Earl is a strong little dude, I have seen enough of him on the mat to know not to underestimate him lol.

Earl Jones does bench that much. I am his lifting partner in class. He only weighs 130 and benches at least 285. So, kolat119, pay up buddy!!

Hey Mark:

Good call on Lawson. He's a walking muscle, not the greatest technique though.
