Negative. Mike Miller is from The Hat.

And he's a sophomore.

And he's bad.

I've heard through the grapevine, that Missouri feels very very confident that they are going to kick our butts this year! That does look like an impressive lineup ... but so have a few in the past.

I sure would like to see the Kansas boys make it 3-in-a-row!!!

If he's a bad sophomore then why would he be in the Metro Classic, a dual between good seniors?
Oh wait, I don't care because Manhattan isn't even near the metro.

If you are going as far South as Ft. Scott you should go another 15 or 20 miles to get Wilderman and/or Bowman for 125lbs and 130lbs.

Randy, you are right. On paper this will be a whipping. But, as we all know this meet is not wrestled there. It will come down to conditioning and coaches' strategy. Who has the reins of Team Kansas this year?

I can't wait to see McCormick and Brett Watkins go at it. I've wrestled both of them and I think Watkins will beat McCormick. Watkins is a stud and I hope both of them wrestle for the Missouri Tigers.

ENJOY!!!

i rememeber people saying that ball was going to get killed by his mizzou kid(brett rolofson) which i think was a state champ. Ball was just coming off a 5th place finish from state. and ball ended up tech falling the guy. Mizzou may look good on paper, but kansas kids r scrappers and dont get give up.

Very true, I remember that match. It was pretty exciting. I think Ball might have stuck him. But I'm not sure, maybe he did tech fall him. It really set the tone for the dual.

ENJOY!!!

I know a few coaches in the area were to have met a couple of weeks ago and were to do the same things we are on the forum. Last year, for the first time, actual high school coaches led the team. I would imagine that if a school lands a couple of wrestlers on the team, that there coach might be invited.

As far as boundaries go, I believe it is a 75-mile radius! But I know think that has been fudged a bit on both sides. I know that a few years back, Lattimer from Ft. Scott and Phillips from Holton were invited.

I do love these types of competitions! I suggest that a few people pick the ball up around Pittsburg or Columbus and get something started. I suspect SE Kansas could hold there own, against Missouri or Oklahoma! But a match against Arkansas might be a thriller!

Randy, you are right, Missouri is always confident because they always feel they are superior in every way. In their world they have soundly trounced us in this match even though the individual match totals sure tell another story. I think the word for that is cocky. lol

keith dickey from oak grove,130, had a huge article in kansas city star's sports page today and it gave a ton of good insight on the guy. after reading the article i hear by dub him sir bada$$alot. the guys career record is 160-1 with his only lose to manuel gonzalez (sp) then beat him 12-2 ten days later. he's working on his 4th state title. he will be one of missouri's top guns at the metro, so if a kansas guy were to beat him it would be amazing.

how bout kimzey at 275, brandon sommer at 171? seein how brandon beat aaron pratt last year and pratt wrestled in the metro class and won his match. kimzey is a lot better than grant. hopefully there will be a bogart vs moyer matchup. moyer gave ethan kyle his only loss in 4 years in missouri.

How about some consideration for Kalen Oswald from Effingham at 135. He won the Bobcat, pretty well dominated it. Just a thought, and Go Kansas!
