Dhansen, you are correct that the Turner tournament has a great history of posting results. We all appreciate that. I was expecting you were going to post results again and I did not think you were that late yet. Have you considered either a partial posting with an explanation of why some results are missing or even just having your explanation as to why you have decided not to post this year on the Results page. This would let people, who do not read forum postings, know what your tournament's posting status is this year.
I do think some of the wrestlers enjoy seeing their names in the news. It is kind of the icing on the cake for some of them. When I was a kid, I always read the sports page first thing as soon as I was able to read. I could not wait until I could see my own name in print some day. In high school every week I would keep up with the Track & Field honor roll and see what type of distance I would need to get my name on the Discus Honor Roll List. It really did help motivate me and I enjoyed seeing what my competition had done the previous week. Also many people do have relatives out of town that get on this website and like to see their relatives' names in the lights.
Randy, I certainly do not condemn any tournament for not posting results. I would like to see them all do it because there is a great demand for it and I really do believe it helps promote the Kansas youth wrestling program and the individual tournaments themselves. I also think that there are probably more willing volunteers than we might think. Maybe your idea about people who want to see them so bad volunteering to do the posting is not that bad of an idea. It seems from some recent postings that a few of those people have indicated a willingness to do just that.
